That's just 5, all post 2008...you simply don't know what you are talking about. It's one thing to stan Nintendo like you always do, but to compare the PlayStation to the XBOX and say you can't see the difference? That's not even remotely true, the platforms are as different as you can get when it comes to exclusive games.

You can add Infamous, Heavenly Sword, Folklore, Wipeout & PSASBR as well.

To lesser extents with meh titles, Genji and Lair, lol!

EDIT: @Liquid or was your point just post 2008 titles? If so, some of those wouldn't fit the bill, but then there's still games like Puppeteer, Dragon's Crown & Rain, which were all just released this year at that.

Nintendo doesn't have other revenue streams to afford to take losses like Sony and Microsoft

in reality having a company like Microsoft with virtually unlimited funds coming in was eventually going to kill a company like Nintendo...and it actually immediately killed Sega because they knew there were too many systems coming out for them to profit

Nintendo only does games they don't make TV's or Software

the Wii was genius because they knew the only way to compete with the companies with more money was to differentiate themselves but the wii u was failure to capitalize on this new segment they created because instead of going the next step with motion controls they jumped on the tablet craze but I immediately knew that a tablet controller would not translate to a groundbreaking experience and they needed to come out with an oculus rift type device but i don't think tech was ready for such an underpowered system

I think Nintendo lasts one more gen or two until they decide to be a software only company sadly

Exactly. The shyt was a train wreck that unfolded over years and multiple generations. I had a Genesis, Saturn and I copped a Dreamcast day 1.

If Sega was graced with a Wii-U style flop....and I say "graced" because this is a fukking success story compared to how they went out....I guarantee they'd still be making consoles.

They won't bow out. Nintendo designes consoles to be tailor-made for their games, and their games always sell. If you look at the best selling video games of all time, it's pretty much a toss-up of different Nintendo series (mainly Mario and Pokémon) and the GTA series.

Also, people keep acting as if the Wii and DS flat-out didn't happen. Yeah, maybe the Wii's extraordinary sales were once in a lifetime, but the money they made didn't just disappear into thin air.

with all due respect many of those best selling games were system pack-ins or bundled with controllers.

5, 12, 19 out of the top 20 best selling games of all time those are the Nintendo games that weren't bundled with systems or controllers. all the other ones were bundled with systems or controllers.

again i have nothing against Nintendo in the portable gaming space but in terms of home consoles they need to just stop it. i mean look at this last console. they build the damn thing on Power PC and everything else is X86. so not only are the system's sales in the tubes but why would a developer really take the time to port games over to the Wii U when its selling like crap. the Xbox 360 is power PC so while it still gets games the Wii U shares its architecture so it benefits but as we get deeper into the new generation and the 360 gets less games who's gonna bother with the Wii U outside Nintendo?

the money they put into that tablet they could have just used to boost their specs. even Nintendo themselves is struggling to come up with justifiable ideas for the tablet controller. its about as gimmicky as the sixaxis.

Bros 3 is the GOAT game in that series IMO.

Yoshi's Island and World are my numbers 2 and 3

EDIT: I can't even choose between the 3D games.

64 is a bit dated, but still legit.

Sunshine has some noticeable flaws, but at least had the guts to take risks and try something new.

The Galaxies are also piff.


The thing that really bugs me about these later games is the lack of freedom with the powerups though. Everything feels too designated. In Mario 3, World, and Yoshi's Island, you could use the bonus items anywhere you wanted. In the 3D games, you had time limits on almost everything, except in Sunshine where there were too few powerups to go around to begin with.

Since EAD Tokyo took over for the 3D Mario games (from Galaxy on) they have been top notch. 3D World deserves better than that. Shame on Nintendo for poor advertising.

At WORST Mario 3 is the SECOND best. I think its a little better than Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy 2 is my favorite Mario of all time.

I keep hearing that this new one is legit and got me wanting to drop $400 for ONE game, but I am strong and can hold off for now.

Mario 64 is the GOAT.
With Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Galaxy 2 not far behind.

Outside of Uncharted, Little Big Planet and GoW, all the other Sony IPs had a gun in them on some 1st and 3rd person shooters shyt. It was nothing like the PS1 and PS2 era where it was plenty of JRPGs, platformers, stealth games outside MGS, etc.
