Put me on game brehs, I haven't played this series since Melee. How does the online work? Is Nintendo still doing them bs friend codes?

What are the advanced tactics in the newer games? I remember trying to wave dash in Brawl, being disgusted and never playing it again.

As it stands now they're "Switch Codes" but those should be gone by the time Smash Ultimate drops, replaced by a Nintendo Network ($25 annually, includes monthly retro game downloads)

Smash 4 was a significant improvement over Brawl but did enjoy Melee's level of technical depth (eg wavedashing and such)
