Put me on game brehs, I haven't played this series since Melee. How does the online work? Is Nintendo still doing them bs friend codes?

What are the advanced tactics in the newer games? I remember trying to wave dash in Brawl, being disgusted and never playing it again.

Wii U had a 4 glory mode which is basically where everyone went because the other online modes looked like it could be a lot of fun but the connection was horrendous. Like team battles and 4 player online smash battles lagged hella bad. So if that's fixed in this game those should be a lot of fun. 4 glory was straight up 1 on 1 competitive mode that somewhat ran smoothly for the most part.
There was a voice chat that was on so many levels. I don't know how they'll fix it for this game but Reggie said online will continue to improve so we'll have to wait and see where they want to keep taking this "doing the most" online service. Miiverse was great for some of the games but lacked party chat and some other things that could have made it even better. so an improved Miiverse would do wonders.

And yes, the bs FCs are still around.

2 things of note. It's Sakurai's last game. and it's brand new game built from the ground up. So in the future expect some spooky shyt from a new Smash. but this game could last smash players a long ass time, so I don't think Nintendo needs to worry about a new smash for a while.

Sakurai always says ___ Smash is his last smash game. I think Smash Ultimate with updates/support for the entirety of the Switch life will be enough. Treat it as a GAAS and continually add new content.

Mario party has no online bub

Super Mario Party will have online. It's not the full board game online but they're doing some sort of rotating mini games thing. I understand no board games with randoms cause of rage quitting but I wish you could play boards with your friends online

Tbh I don’t care about the mini games. Without boards being online I will never play this game ever. I guess occasionally a party at the crib. But I ain’t trying to do no lame shyt like that

This clip alone shows off some of the better lighting. Proper shadowing darkens characters when they fight in the corners of Peach's Castle and you can see the nice "oomph" effects that adds to the hits as well as the animations.

I haven't used a standard controller for Smash since melee. I deadass am gonna miss the wiimote/nunchuck combo. Is there gameplay of people using all forms of controllers?

Are you aware that it requires you to download an app on your phone and use your phone for voice chat?
It's a complete mess and unacceptable in 2018.

I'm actually fine with this. Nintendo's online is trash, and Mario Party was also a game I approached like a traditional board game anyway.
It's fun, but I've never taken it seriously. Part of the fun was the randomness of it all. Never took it as a serious game of skill.

The app only supports one game in Splatoon 2. It's actually the same number of games that use the actual Switch for voice chat as you can voice chat directly through the Switch in Fortnite
