"Supergirl" TV show thread

@MartyMcFly @Jello Biafra Did "Supergirl" get good this season or something? I noticed y'all posting in this thread recently even though I don't remember y'all participating in this thread last season. I haven't watched this season at all.

Been good each season

This season in particular has been strong because it’s diving head first into being a political allegory. Not pulling punches, not holding back. Doing what comics at their best can do which is to comment on the world around them while still being entertaining

Shaping up to be my favorite season so far, really like how they're handling Manchester and the Agents of Liberty. Manchester's action scenes is some of the best fighting since prime Arrow.

May main issue with this season tho, or at least the last episode, is Kara’s feelings towards Manchester black when she works and is friends with Oliver queen. She can’t sit and say how vigilantism is wrong when Oliver lives by that code

If my SJW you mean wanting to talk about racism and bigotry that we have coming out of government along with putting some nuance to the actual debates we’re having in the country about race and what it means to be an American, then yeah sure.

It is much better than it was last season. Actually it is better than it has been for the last 2 seasons.

That actress accent is fukked up though, she'll switch between American and her English accent 4 times in 2 sentences. Especially when she gets emotional.

Katie McGrath has been mangling American accents for a smooth decade or so since she came over from the UK.

I stopped watching Arrow but Oliver's not offing criminals anymore tho, unless he went back?

Would you say it's been better than the other DC shows on The CW?

I currently rank the CW shows like this:

1. Legends of Tomorrow (non-stop time travel fukkery never gets old with me and adding Constantine to the crew has just made everything even more fun)
2. Black Lightning (still as good as S01)
3. Arrow (Aside from Diaz being a shytty villain this season has been good)
4. Supergirl (the subject matter is better, they are spreading the storyline around so nobody feels left out anymore and Mon-El is in the dustbin of history)
5. The Flash (not bad per se but I have zero interest in the villain yet again but Barry and Iris' kid from the future is a good addition)

Yup I’d agree with that ranking.

Last episode was the best one yet imo, directed by Kevin Smith.

Manchester Black remains piff and Supergirls "I'm not struggling, I'm flying" was boss as fukk. Addressing Supergirls relationship to the government is genius and ballsy too.

I was hoping when Manchester Black was introduced that we'd eventually get The Elite brought into the Supergirl universe and now it looks like we will.
