"Supergirl" TV show thread

I don't even know who her supporting characters would be other than Ma & Pa Kent. At least I had already been introduced to Lana and Pete on "Superman: TAS" when I got into "Smallville".

They'll probably invent a few, maybe borrow a few from other characters like Arrow has. I'm not too familiar with Supergirl either.

Based on having watched "Superman: The Animated Series" & the "Superman/Batman: Apocalypse" direct to Blu-ray animated move, I just realized a "Supergirl" TV show would basically be a "Smallville" reboot, with Supergirl/Kara Kent being the main character instead.

There is the possibility of it being a gender swapped rehash of Smallville especially since it is likely that any Supergirl TV show would completely remove the Superman parts of her origin.

The big difference with Supergirl and Superman though is that while Superman came to Earth as a baby, Supergirl was already a teenager when Krypton blew up and she was in suspended animation for her trip to earth so you would have a fully formed alien on Earth which would make her different from Superman by playing up the "fish out of water" stuff. And with no Superman around there would be nobody to teach her the ropes of her powers and maintaining a secret identity.

She already has a show called Bitten where she plays a Werewolf. It comes on the Syfy channel.

Could be really dope if done right. She better not be in high school n shyt lol. But it's not gonna be on CW so it probably (hopefully) won't happen. I do have faith in the people behind Arrow and Flash

I dont think it'll be like Smallville totally, although most of her stories are set there. The new shows have the confidence to put the heroes in tights so I think they'll make her go ahead and be in full gear. My only thing is so much of her development is dependent on Superman and where do you re-introduce him int his stand alone verse seperate form TV and Cinematic verse and Gotham verse etc?

They should just link this one to the DC Cinematic universe anyway, since the Man of Steel novel adaptation did hint of a Kandor and then Kara

Yeah they could but it would be a lot to convince the audience seeing as she is so connected to Superman. Like she was from the city that survived the explosion and half her discovery was through Clark. They can try and do it but it'll be interesting if they can convince the built in audience.
