Stop with the dissertation, breh. Most of the reviews so far have liked it.

However, watch it for yourself and see what you think. No need for anything else.
I'll put it like this. when i go to see the movie. If it's based on a good comics and executed well i will enjoy it.
If i feel like a screenwriter or the director invented this storyline for superman with no basis on the comics other then their "feel of the character" i would probably leave thinking its mid.

Gunn and the cast have talked a lot about what inspired the movie. One inspiration is the All-Star Superman comic.

Yes, that is a great superman comic run. One of his best ones.
but its more of an end game story than a starting point. its a story about superman dying. coming to terms with his life, and essentially checking off a bucket list of last duties before dying.
its like starting off a wolverine series with Logan. whice strikes me as odd.

I suspect they going to take major liberties. and obviously not kill him in the end which would invalidate the stakes of the story.

I said that was one inspiration, not the only one, lol.

Well see if thats a good thing or a bad thing. Sounds like when Fox made the phoenix saga a subplot in X3 instead of dedicating 2 or 3 movies to it alone.
Huh? Superhero movies always take inspiration from multiple sources. Nobody said that they were adapting All-Star Superman; it's just a single point of inspiration for the movie, lol.

You're thinking too deeply.

You defending this movie like you've already seen it. I'm not condemning it, just expressing my observations and concerns.
Superman (and the fantasic Four) are the hardest comic character to do movies for, because they are very oldschool. And people still have golden era sensibilities about how the characters should be portrayed on screen,

also seeing alot of the phrase "comic booky" which as a comic book fan. i'm not sure i understand what they mean by that.
I suspect it means campy. or wacky. Like Archie Comics. Comics come in all tones and genres, so using such a broad terms strikes me as casual and casuals generally see comics the like the funny pages in the newpapers. Not some epic story like the infinity saga. or the dark knight trilogy
A reviewer went into dept about the comic book reference and it’s more in line with the Sci-Fi element and things like pocket dimension. Many of the reviews say Gunn hasn’t held back in regards to comic lore and that it’s something comic fans will get but casuals might not get certain references.

Hate to get all technical here but All star Superman is believed to be the beginning of Superman 1 million Superman most powerful form. He doesn’t die but evolves for a few thousand years and emerges as something else entirely different from what he was.

If this gets us to some of Supes' major rogues, I'm all for it.

I wanted to see Snyder's Darkseid causing havoc in real-time, not an alternate future.

If we can get a Darkseid with TAS energy, that would be the way...

I'd like to see this in 3D. Its been a long time since I've seen a movie in that format. I don't think I've ever seen on live action.

Defending? I'm talking about your comments that are taking things way out of proportion.

Also, I already said to watch the movie and form your own opinion. What more do you want? :dahell:
