Im not

The Batman and the shows revolving around it is great, we really dont need 2 different batman universes happening on the big screen simultaneously.

James Gunn should just incorporate that universe into the DCU. I feel like he's gonna attempt to revive slapstick Batman and Robin with that brave and bold bullshyt.
I really don’t think it’s gonna be slap stick. Also I’m more of the mindset that there can be something for everyone. Comic books have always done this. You can have your Batman mainline story, your detective comic, and your else world story…..at the end of the day if the story is good, people are going to gravitate to it.

Movies are not comic books. Movies cost hundreds of millions to produce.

Having 2 separate batman universes happening at the same time will not work, one of them will be canceled and it'll probably be the one without an entire cinematic universe attached.

James Gunn will get The Batman canceled and replaced with some Batman and Robin shyt to match his jokey style.

A lot of people loveeeee them some OP'ed-to-hell super heroes. No vulnerability. "Your dude has 9,000 power level? Well my dude has over 9 million power level so I win!" You know?

Most people with brains know that watching a movie of that gets boring real quick. Look at the hundredth stakesless building crash in the Snyderverse for evidence.

When a character finally let's loose, gets pissed, and/or works hard and for a brief moment hits their peak potential? That hits.

When the Flash is moving faster than light episode 1 with no effort? Boring.
You know what, you’re right. It’s why this scene from JLU hit so hard, before this it was like “ok, he runs fast” but this was like nah, Wally West is different. shyt still gets me hyped, running around the world in nanoseconds :whew:

But Superman was pretty damn good, I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I did. But it just sparked the excitement in me as someone who grew up with DC more compared to marvel. Batman TAS, Justice League, Superfriends, The Wonder Twins lol, Teen Titans. Gunn knows what he’s doing and I’ve got complete trust in dude after seeing the movie.

That wasn't a dark movie to me, definitely not the tone of what Batman should be.
shyt started off with a needle-drop to Radiohead's 'Creep' and wasn't shy about showcasing animal cruelty, mutilation, and loss of innocence throughout Rocket's fukked up backstory. Don't really care whether you trust Gunn or not, but tackling darker themed CBM material isn't exactly foreign territory to him.

It was dark in comparison to to the other two GOTG movies, but it felt like a marvel movie.

Logan was a dark movie.

You maybe right, and you’re probably just advocating for the content you like. I wasn‘t the biggest fan of The Batman. But the Penguin was amazing. The studio would be crazy to abandon good stories. I will have no problem watching a Batman that goes all in on Batman lore, and a Batman that tries to introduce mature non kid friendly elements with two different actors.

Two completely seperate vibes. For those who enjoy a local Batman who solves mysteries as a local detective, you will still have your Batman. Seems there are enough of you who claim to looooove a struggling Batman grounded in reality with super armor:sas1:

The rest of us will get the less grounded Batman from the Animated series:blessed:

Rest assured, squirrel suit Batman is safe. Unless people were just pretending to like it.

James Gunn not doing all the directing for the movies in the DCU. So I dont think tone of something like a batman in his universe would be a problem. He probably hands that off to someone else, plus if nothing else we know Gunn would stick mostly to comic roots. Im trying to think but I think damn near all batmans, other than Adam West, would be kinda dark. Different shades of dark, but dark. Even the Clooney Batman was dark with all that campy shyt going on iirc, been years since I went back and watched.

Ultraman is a clone of Superman :mjtf:

Also, having cameras set up everywhere to anticipate Superman's moves is 100% cheating.
I still don't understand how that worked. Does Superman do the same moves over and over? Also I would think he would be moving too fast in a fight for Lex to yell out commands.
Kinda wish they just did the Bizarro that was a failed clone Superman from the 90s.

I do wonder how they'll cover Supergirl's origin. I would be straight if they went with the Matrix origin
