It was an unnecessary change

And if he does that to Superman, imagine what he does to Batman when he eventually shows up in the DCU?

There are plenty of unnecessary changes in these comic book movies. Its the fact that this is a change that annoys people so much thats odd:comeon:

Maybe its just nitpicking because the movie is exceeding all expectations. Absolutely nothing changes based on this change. Superman is still good becauase of his parents. Its like if they decided to kill of Aunt May instead of Uncle Ben for once. Yes its an unneccessary change, but nothing changes.

We will see how it plays out. As it stands we have no idea how much Krypton will ever come into play again in these films.

I'm not nitpicking, the movie was great, I just didn't like the change they made to his origin.

That's about it....that and the fact that they wasted Ultraman

Based on the Rolling Stones interview that was released today, it's becoming clearer that all James Gunn thinks about Superman is that he's "nice and kind". That's it. He doesn't understand or respect anything about Superman otherwise.

Also, he's probably NOT as much of a comic book reader as he claims. I never thought I would be thinking this a week ago. I was defending him so hard.

Damn it, man :palm:

I really liked the performances and the universe established in this.

The execution felt all over the place for long stretches tho and gags were getting plugged into the action where they just felt jarring.

Hopefully next go around they get the formula down pat and Superman gets his Dark Knight Returns moment.

Crazy they haven't honestly improved on the take from the first couple of Donner movies after nearly half a century.

'F4' will outgross 'Superman'. It's the lead in for the 'Avengers: Doomsday' movie and people have been waiting for a 'F4' that's done right.

No real reason to compare movies when they are successful. 'Superman' is going to approach $400M domestic and that's where studios receive the most money from especially in the first couple weeks, the studio receives well over 50% of the gross.

In foreign territories, studios can receive as little as 25% of the gross.
The thing is nobody really knows or cares that F4 is a lead in to the next Avengers. People barely care that there's a next Avengers

I haven’t met many people looking for no new F4 movie then movies have all been soooo bad that nobody is looking for it. Especially using the female silver surfer. That was such a random and unnecessary change. People loved Norrin Radd story
