Unfortunately what's going on in the white house is also a big factor internationally. It may be a wrap world wide for now unless something truly special gets made.

Yeah, people will still come out overseas for the big kids movies or the hyped up sequels (like I think 'Doomsday' will be fine) but most movies are struggling over there and China is damn near dead for Hollywood.

Unfortunately what's going on in the white house is also a big factor internationally. It may be a wrap world wide for now unless something truly special gets made.

Right now, the only 2 ways for a superhero movie to make a boatload of money ($800 million and higher) is to be....

1) Spider-Man related. The new Spidey movie next year is guaranteed to make an easy billion lol.

2) Nostalgia bait. Have nostalgic cameos and reappearances of fan favorite characters/actors.

For example, if Superman 2025 featured Henry Cavill playing Ultraman or General Zod, it probably would've made $800 million worldwide easily. Or if Christian Bale made a one-time reappearance as Batman, Supes '25 would clear a billy.

That's the unfortunate reality for superhero movies right now.

People can certainly point to overseas for these comic book movies and be a little concerned but the bulk of the money comes from domestic performance because that's where you're getting 60%+ from the gross and that's where 'Superman' is cleaning up right now.

I saw this when it was first released, and it was solid. I enjoy it for the most part, just another interpretation of the character. I didn't have any problems with Man of Steel either.
