I mean you could do this with TDK Joker and 89 Joker. Working for mobsters. End movies with falling from a building. Showdown on a street holding a gun and a Bat vehicle.

Lois in Superman Returns is the one who figures out Lex is behind the power outages cause she’s a reporter in all versions of the character
I did do it for TDK at the time, I loved that movie but a lot of it wasn't something I hadn't seen before.

Maybe I'm just :flabbynsick:

It’s not :flabbynsick:

I mean when you use source material. You will get similar beats unless you change the character.

Bane in TDKR is nothing like Batman and Robin because one of them is nothing like the source material.

Even Both versions of Riddler start with a murder and attacking Bruce Wayne’s home. Let alone the fact both use puzzles cause that’s the character

I mean, all Superman live-action movies (except for Superman III) feature either Lex Luthor or General Zod as a villain.

It's the reason why many Superman fans have been asking for other villains to be adapted (such as Brainiac, Metallo, Mr. Mxy, Parasite, Mongul, etc.).

I've been watching some YouTube reactions and it confuses me how so many of them seem to think that Metropolis is New York City :skip:

I can understand for Superman (1978) because that was basically NYC (Twin Towers, Statue of Liberty, NYPD, etc.), but Superman (2025)? Hell no :gucci:

The Metropolis parts of the movie were filmed in Cleveland, and Cleveland looks NOTHING like New York City. Do people really think that NYC is the only city in North America with tall buildings/skyscrapers? :skip:

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
This convo is silly, the movie is objectively a success by today's standards. The studio, the competitors and the industry are treating it that way.

Watched BvS:UE the other day...and I still think that's my third favorite Superman movie. 2025 is definitely an easier rewatch though. Was actually surprised at how much the movies have in common.

- Lex stages an international conflict knowing Superman will intervene, and uses it against him.
- Lois and Superman wondering if their relationship will ever work, and even having a discussion on the ethics of Superman going around the world
- Lex managing to turn other heroes against Superman, but in the end they come through and help him.
- Lex being exposed as a criminal and ending up behind bars.
- Lex using Kryptonian DNA to make a "Superman killer".
- Lois using her investigative skills to prove that Lex is the one setting up Superman

This was all in BvS, and is now in Supes 2025.
Lex being a tech bro
Superman hitting the Jesus pose in the black hole
Superman having a "no kill unless I really need to" policy that nerds was mad at before
He even stole the entire plot of Blackburn for the parents message
Terrific with the spheres was homie with the whistle arrow

There was a lot of "Hey I remember that" type shyt

Historically Gotham has been akin to NYC, Bludhaven has been NJ, and Metropolis has been Chicago.

I've also seen that Metropolis = Manhattan and Gotham = Queens/Brooklyn. DCEU made it seem this way too.

There really is no wrong thing here, its all writer preference...but in no world is Metropolis Cleveland lmao.

The Batman part of BvS was better than almost every batman movie ever...it showed PREP TIME properly, and Affleck is a GOAT tier batman.

That said...the bolded :unimpressed: that is just "lex luthor shyt" or just Superman tropes. Especially the last 2 i bolded...like...that is like "Spiderman is late for a date and has issues with Mary Jane" "peter struggles with power and responsibility" yeah no shyt, those are core story beats of the character lol.

Especially in a reboot with Lex Luthor...you should fully expect that stuff. I wouldn't say either movie is special for having those themes.

You seem to be misunderstanding what I'm talking about. Also, you're wrong about the "Metropolis = Manhattan and Gotham = Queens/Brooklyn" thing.

Anyway, that's not my point. I see people watching Superman (2025) confusing the city in the movie for NYC (which it's not). The city in the movie is NOT supposed to be NYC (it's Metropolis, duh), AND those parts of the movie were filmed in Cleveland, Ohio.

so fukkin what. Every Seattle and NYC movie are both filmed in Toronto. TDK was filmed in Chicago. That means less than nothing.

And you're being incredibly literal and obtuse with 'supposed to be'. You know exactly what I and they mean.

Cleveland looks NOTHING like NYC, so there's no reason anyone should think that the city in the movie is NYC :gucci:

I don't even know why you're being combative with me for :gucci:

honestly bro...if someone says anything as ridiculous as Metropolis is Cleveland and references the movie being filmed in Cleveland as evidence...it is so off base i might get 'combative' especially as assumptive as you make it.

Cleveland is cheap asf to film in. That is literally the only reason why it filmed there. Metropolis is not Cleveland regardless if you recognize it. The same way Toronto is used for any metropolitan city in the world.

Cleveland has nothing to do with this movie or superman other than a cheap filming location.
