I saw it.
James Gunn is a goddamn genius.
Easily the best Superman movie and a great comic book movie on its own.
Boy did this landed for me. For context, I absolutely
loathe Snyder's version. I felt like he entirely missed the point of a well done Superman story. I'm always down to see what a good filmmaker can reinterpret in comic book movies but Snyder barely proposed anything interesting. fukk outtahere with these weak ass allegories about gods/power and humanity. Hated the tone of the movie, hated Clark/Superman's characterization, hated his supporting cast's characterization and hated the fight scenes.
Here you can really feel the love for the comic book. The movie is not afraid to explore some of the goofyest parts of Superman's lore but it's balanced because of the serious quandaries thrown at Clark. His values are put to the test. This even shows in the action scenes (Superman finally saves people duh). David Corenswet and Nicola Hoult are great in the roles of Clark and Luthor. Luthor's pettiness is
The whole cast even is amazing and they all get to shine in some way.
If this is the start of brand new DC universe things are
very promising, they just need to sustain the momentum and not fukk it up by releasing subpar movies.
And yoooo Mr. Terrific was the fukking truth
