They should forever be kicking themselves for not backing up the Brinks truck for Christian Bale

Then he went on to play a forgettable character in Thor Love and Thunder
They DID give him a Brinks truck. They offered him 50 Million up front to come back and he said no. Only thing he had to say was tell Ben to make sure they put a pee hole in the suit!

And his Gorr wasn't forgettable. Bale was great throughout that flick. It's just that movie as a whole was fukking trash! How you get Bale and only give him 35 minutes of screentime?

Shouldve made it 100:pachaha:

And the character Gorr was forgettable to begin with. He shouldve been a bigger name character in the MCU. His performance was good as expected. But it was still "Gorr" at the end of the day. And the backstory and his limited ammount of time wasnt enough to save that film.

I saw it.

James Gunn is a goddamn genius.

Easily the best Superman movie and a great comic book movie on its own.

Boy did this landed for me. For context, I absolutely loathe Snyder's version. I felt like he entirely missed the point of a well done Superman story. I'm always down to see what a good filmmaker can reinterpret in comic book movies but Snyder barely proposed anything interesting. fukk outtahere with these weak ass allegories about gods/power and humanity. Hated the tone of the movie, hated Clark/Superman's characterization, hated his supporting cast's characterization and hated the fight scenes.

Here you can really feel the love for the comic book. The movie is not afraid to explore some of the goofyest parts of Superman's lore but it's balanced because of the serious quandaries thrown at Clark. His values are put to the test. This even shows in the action scenes (Superman finally saves people duh). David Corenswet and Nicola Hoult are great in the roles of Clark and Luthor. Luthor's pettiness is :russ:

The whole cast even is amazing and they all get to shine in some way.

If this is the start of brand new DC universe things are very promising, they just need to sustain the momentum and not fukk it up by releasing subpar movies.

And yoooo Mr. Terrific was the fukking truth :wow:

That's promising. Why the 8/10? What took points off? I've seen a lot of talk about pacing. For what it's worth I loved Snyder's take and I'll love this one also.

Is the humour overwhelming?

Nah just the right amount imo. It's not the Marvel template where every serious situation needs to be diffused with a joke. Sad situations are treated as such but the movie still manages to find a way to add some levity to the story.
:whew:That was my only concern as one review said Gunn didn’t let emotional scenes settle properly before dropping the next humorous dialogue. I am glad that’s not the case. Really can’t wait for this movie.

Ironically James Gunn is to blame for that exact format you're describing

The term for it is called Bathos by the way. To undermine serious moments with unnecessary humor and ridiculousness
