Didn't like how Supes was getting ragdolled left and right, made him extra weak. Cavill and Routh would laugh off the attacks this Super gets wrecked with.

BvS and MoS had the better fight scenes...these weren't bad though.

Green Lantern middle finger was a nice touch!!! Lmao

Was like living out a live-action version of Justice League: Unlimited at times and that shyt had me feeling like a kid again. Flick was unapologetically comic-booky which will probably turn some folks off, but I loved every bit of it.

While Corenswet sold me, I was really impressed with the supporting cast here. The third act sets out what I value the most and who I immediately think of with Supes as a character, but I have also seen better from Gunn. I still hold GOTG Vol. 3 close to the chest as one of the best CBM to drop this decade. Even then, that was a culmination of long-term storytelling that I’m willing to give the DCU a chance to build towards in future projects.

This will prob end up a 3.5/5 for me when the hype settles down. Not a masterpiece IMO, but does a fun enough job for an entry-way and has me excited for what’s in store for the DCU. Warner Brehs should be HAPPY. Hell of a year, so far.

This isn't a film I'd pay to see again during its theater run, not that it's a bad thing, but a hit like Sinners gets me to watch it again...and again.
Not that I was ever expecting something like this to be on that level, but Sinners straight up spoiled us. I don’t think those highs will truly be rivaled for me until PTA’s new flick.

I am seeing this again on Saturday tho. When the highs hit, they HIT. :wow:

Just got back from seeing it. I'll give it a 6.5. I'm used to the animated series Superman, Justice League Superman and even Snyderverse Superman so seeing Superman with so much emotion was kind of jarring. I didn't like it. I know Clark is supposed to be a goof, but while he's Superman he supposed to give off like the perfect leader vibes. I felt like he lost his cool too many times and not in a menacing way like he did against Mongel in The Man Who Has Everything.

Also, I'm not a big fan of the main hero getting his ass whooped the majority of the movie. I mean I should have figured that would be the case because of the first trailer, but gotdamn. He only got the upper hand in a fight at the very end. That's crazy for fukking Superman. Hopefully Gunn doesn't continue to do that in the movies to come

Really those are my two main gripes with the movie, they just so happen to both be about the main character. That's not a great look, but the movie definitely had a lot of good stuff about it. I like Mr. Terrific (even tho I thought he showed too much agitation at times but his made for good comedy) and Hawkgirl was coo, actress is cute as hell so I'm gonna need more of her on my screen. Fillion is old as hell, but other than that he was a perfect Guy Gardner. That hairstyle made him look like back when he was the Preacher on Buffy :mjlol: Hoult as Lex was really great. I wasn't for sure on him, but he did a good job.

Just a coo movie overall. Nothing too bad, but nothing spectacular either.

Was not expecting Supergirl to be like that lol. But strangely I liked it. Her movie is gonna be a mess but I feel like it fits her given the age she is

Did we watch the same movie? The humor and emotional beats were set apart much like he did with 'GOTG vol. 3' and there were far less scenes where everyone on screen is trying to be a comic like you'd have seen in that trilogy. There's an emotional weight to the film that the first two GOTG movies didn't have and you also said there was a lot of music and there was barely any... it was mostly the score. I can only remember popular music showing up twice and in one of the scenes it was actually dope as fukk featuring Mr. Terrific.

:stopitslime:

There were like two heartfelt moments in the movie one of which was interrupted by Krypto for shyts and giggles.

Superman says he called friends and we get a nice moment with Guy and Hawkgirl saving people but that's ruined by fists with the middle fingers up as they flip tanks.

This stuff happened throughout the movie.

Again you had a cool concept with the pocket dimension but you have monkeys and ex girlfriends in there.

They trapped Krypto by having him chase flying squirrels on a screen.

Who thwarted Lex's plans? A bimbo taking selfies.

Tense moment when they're about to enter a black hole ruined by Krypto licking a baby's face instead of saving them.

Kaiju attacking Metropolis and Superman is rescuing dogs and squirrels.

Need I go on?

There is no seriousness in this movie.

Where did I say there was a lot of music?

Why are you in here saying this when we supposedly watched the same movie? There were a bunch of "heartfelt" scenes during this and they never did the thing where it's like "oh, let me get this quip off right quick" during them. They did a nice job of balancing the two

I'll list the scenes right now

Superman and the robots

Superman and his Dad

Superman and Lois multiple times

Element Man/Metamorpho/his son

Superman and his "friends"

Superman's contact getting shot point blank

Superman saving the kids....

Superman finding out the truth about his parents

Need I go on? :what:

These were all played in the movie as serious scenes with emotional weight to them. I'm beginning to think you didn't actually see it...
