It was always destined to bomb. I dont see how many ways people can tell you they dont give a damn about Fantastic Four. I feel they made the movie just to set up Dr Doom


Making a Fantastic Four movie without Doom is a fumble. Then they didnt bother focusing on making a great Silver Surfer(looks like shyt from the trailer). Then there is no Hulk in the movie for fan service to fight the Thing. This movie has tax write off written all over it.

Maybe idk…. Lowkey since the end of Endgame Marvel hasn’t had a direction and I could see the chickens coming home to roost with FF. They needed either to recast or reboot going back to end game and their refusal to do so has lowkey written them into the corner. They also over expanded the line bringing TV shows into it. Instead of creating good shows they focused on trying to bringing all the obscure character characters to TV.

The original plan was for T’Challa to be the face of the MCU and the compromises they made to compensate for Boseman dying has left them fukked up. If FF bombs and Superman does well we might see people start calling for Feige’s head.

I think my expectations were too high. I expected more from Gunn. It felt mid to me too but still better every Snyder movie.

Watched this a second time tonight. Round 3 will be on the 4K Blu-ray. Still think it’s messy at points but I’m beyond bought in on this interpretation.

The fact that I can speculate possibilities of future villain appearances along the likes of Mister Mxyzptlk or Toyman and not be concerned with whether those guys would mesh here is great. I think with those two under Gunn, it’s a matter of when and not if.

Part of me really wants to see how a story with Supes would fare without the whole “start of the DCU” responsibility this had going on. Guess I’ll have to wait on the sequel for that. They’ve laid some essential foundation here though to bounce back in a bigger way then.

Cavill's Superman being so powerful its one of the reasons I hate those movies, like the JL getting their asses handed to them by alien dude but them superman comes and finished him in like 5 seconds, what was the point of the League if they can't handle anything without superman?

Hawkgirl killed the president of a foreign nation, and it wasn't brought up at all after that. There should be some serious consequences for that. Superman, at least, should've reprimanded her or something.

That was pretty wild. when she dropped him I was just waiting for superman or green lantern to grab him before he went splat. I'm like that dude aint some random bad guy. He's an official president you cant just kill him like that

Hate to say it, but this Superman is easily better than Brave new world and Thunderbolts. Disappointing since I had high hopes for the breh Mackey in his first solo MCU flick. especially with the news of all the reshoots they did to get the movie just right. Looking back this Superman film is jus more fun to watch. I hope MCU comes correct with FF or it's over
