My favorite version of Superman is a golly-gee-whiz dude. In his mind, it shouldn't take much to make the World a better place. When he told Lois that he interfered in an international conflict because "People were going to die" is what I expect of Superman. He wasn't worried about treaties, bureaucracy, or optics. Showing that he's not impervious, and can take physical damage was something I appreciated. It created tense moments because I wasn't sure if he was going make it in time due to the injuries.
Nicholas Hoult did a great job as Luthor. I disliked him the second he was on-screen yelling those stupid ass button combos. Luthor has shown he can be a strong political leader for the people, but he can't maximize his talent due to his obsession with Superman. I'm glad once he was arrested, they also got his minions. I hated their excessive ass kissing, especially from Great Value Ving Rhames.
