enjoyed it and the cast was super dope. DC really embodied a younger optimistic Superman and I like his switches between personas. Hault did a great job as Lex and really showed that hatred and pettyness for Superman lol. Mr. Terrific, Guy, and Hawkgirl were awesome and Terrific stole every scene for me.

This legitimately felt like a Justice League unlimited episode which happened to focus on Superman mostly. Made me feel like a kid again. Lois and Clark had genuine chemistry again finally on the big screen. I'm very curious how the rest of the og Justice League fits into this world.

I do hope Gunn doesn’t handle directing the other members his style would be way too jarring for Wonder Woman, Batman, or Flash. I'm in for Supergirl I want to see more of this universe.
I do want to see this again:wow::wow:

Gunn isn't directing every movie in the DCU, lol. Also, he said that each DCU film will have its own unique tone/vibe.

Because the argument started to become personal and too heated.

This is really dumb logic lol. Most rational people would agree that targeting a hero's close family, friends, and pets is off-limits. Also, almost every pet owner/caretaker would be fuming if a pet was stolen from them. Superman is not perfect; he has emotions. That doesn't mean he can't still be looked up to:stopitslime:
Yes because Lois and Clark were arguing. The same thing you just denied they were doing. You scream over your girl too?:mjlol:

And again with misrepresenting my point. "Emotions" can't be this catchall that excuses everything, especially.

Now, let everyone else get back to discussing and understanding the movie.

In his monologue to Lex at the end he literally said that's what makes him human. That he has emotions and he gets scared, angry, amd feels like everybody else but people expect him to be different because he's Superman.
This speech was really bad, and belies a major flaw in the Superman ethos

"Superman is human just like us" becomes an excuse for Superman to embrace the most indulgent elements of humanity which a hero should be above. I'm sure he's great to have a beer with, but the very fact that he puts on a bright costume and chooses us his powers to save people puts him in a very different position. If you were falling off a roof would you call for me of fukkin Superman?:mjlol:

Why do we protest the police? Because they're "only human" but when you take on certain roles you have a standard to uphold. Y'all want Superman to be the invincible alien that saves everyone and a regular old human at the same time. This requires a lot of cognitive dissonance

That's to say that Superman can't feel emotions, but if he's gonna be a big ass baby flying off the handle he's just a PG-13 Homelander:mjlol:

Exactly this is why the comparisons are weird. the Synder stuff had to play the fence with the "what of comics were real" and then studio heads forcing MCUisms that don't make sense due to being out of touch.

This Gunn shyt is some purely nikka this a comic book, so some of the debates are weird as fukk lol. You shouldn't be thinking about the past or cross referencing films for this
The reasons the comparisons are happening is because of what Superman represents in a societal context. That's why Superman gets the brunt of these debates over characterization differences

Snyder's and Gunn's differences in approach are different, but they share more similarities than I think people realize. I think both are worthy of discourse
