A couple of things about the movie that i thought were good/funny/interesting
  • Guy Gardner - He acted just like in the comics and animated series. Did a good job on this.
  • Mister Terrific - Not familiar with him in the comics but he was great whenever he was on screen.
  • Fortress of Solitude - It wasn't really a "fortress". More like a hideout the way it was depicted.
  • Lex Luther - Stole every scene he was in. Turned out to be a good cast.
  • Lois - Thought she played it well and had good chemistry with Clark.
  • All the fight scenes in the city and the citizens just standing around was hilarious to me. Like there's a monster as tall as the skyscraper and they're all just standing around eating yogurt :mjlol:
  • Saving a fukking squirrel :dead:
  • And that random middle eastern guy who helped Superman out of a crater. Like breh, he's Superman. And he got killed for it :wtf:

This speech was really bad, and belies a major flaw in the Superman ethos

"Superman is human just like us" becomes an excuse for Superman to embrace the most indulgent elements of humanity which a hero should be above. I'm sure he's great to have a beer with, but the very fact that he puts on a bright costume and chooses us his powers to save people puts him in a very different position. If you were falling off a roof would you call for me of fukkin Superman?:mjlol:

Why do we protest the police? Because they're "only human" but when you take on certain roles you have a standard to uphold. Y'all want Superman to be the invincible alien that saves everyone and a regular old human at the same time. This requires a lot of cognitive dissonance

That's to say that Superman can't feel emotions, but if he's gonna be a big ass baby flying off the handle he's just a PG-13 Homelander:mjlol:
I don't see the issue here. Superman does get emotional, but his emotions never make him step out of character. When he barges in Lex's office and demands to know where Krypto is, yes he is yelling...but he STILL shows incredible restraint. He doesn't hurt Lex. He doesn't even threaten to hurt Lex. All he does is yell at him. Keep in mind, this is AFTER Lex broke into his home, kidnapped his dog, stole private footage of his parents, posted said footage with damning message that he wasn't even aware of to the entire world, and turned the entire world against him. And after ALL that, the worst thing Superman did was yell at Lex. That's a BIG difference from police officers who actually abuse their power. Superman would not abuse his power. And Lex knows this too. That's why he feels so confident playing in Superman's face.

I didn’t expect this to do so well at the box office

I saw people go from saying this flopped to saying they’re lying about to numbers. Now they’re pivoting to inflation lol

Certain segment of fans cannot take the fact that this is doing well both critically and commercially

Even had dudes geeked off F4’s Thursday numbers hoping and praying it would knock Superman off only for it to do less than soup did its opening weekend. Tough times ahead for the Snyder boys. Expect them to go super hard on trashing this movie to cope. Peace maker probably about to get attacked from all angles too just off association

"This clarification comes after Superman delivered its emotional Kryptonian gut-punch: a depiction of Kal-El’s biological parents, Jor-El and Lara, not as wise protectors but as cold, clinical supremacists. They view Earth and humanity as inferior — more an experiment than a refuge."

I dont remember Jorel saying all that:gucci:?

Gunn also adds he doesn’t think Jor-El is evil, who basically told his son to do whatever it takes to be fruitful and multiply:

"And I don’t really even think of Jor-El and Lara as being totally evil. They just have this mindset that humans are less than what they are. We’re sea turtles to them. They’re just trying to keep the Kryptonian genes alive."

So basically its like ive been saying the whole time. Jorel isnt inherently evil and doesnt give Clark any instruction to be an evil dictactor and kill the humans. They just see humans as an inferior species because we are and tell him to "guide" us. But good to know many of you are xenophobes who arent tolerant of cultural differences and ideologies:respect:
Direct words:

LORD over them

Shocked me lol

They didn’t get smoked or anything, Soup did 220 million while F4 did around 218.. but the Twitter streets were talkin mad shyt when F4 had a big Thursday. Snyder bros were talking like Superman was about to mopped and using it to paint narratives

Now they’re back to the drawing board. If this movie does 700 million it’s gonna get interesting. I don’t think it does tho

The numbers both movies are making in comparison make sense, at the end of the day people want something interesting and different.

For as much as people are desperately trying to cling on to any positive trait for F4, it’s a run of the mill, standard MCU flick.

There’s nothing unique about the dialogue, the filming style or the direction. The characters seemed to just be there with copy and paste words, whereas the secondary characters and even the main ones in Superman had prominence. Superman had more depth in the interview with Lois than MCU has had in years. The action scenes, the flying cameras around Superman looked more unique than anything MCU has done in years.

I say all this as someone who watched every MCU film religiously, shytted on Justice League, Flash & Man of Steel, I even called this a CW movie in this very thread when the first trailer came out.

People have eyes and their eyes are telling them Fantastic Four is more of the same while Superman is different. I really hope the creative approach’s DC is taking, lights a fire under Marvel.

man of steel and FF are both better movies.
