These rando twitter jackasses who swear their box office experts and know all about the movies marketing budget are weird as hell:what:

You gotta let them Snyder dudes cope however they can man

If dying on a hill that this movie failed is the only glimmer of hope they have in the Snyderverse returning and Gunn getting canned (which quite literally is never going to happen) then goddammit let them believe it

Looks like it's on pace to finish $100M+ above the breakeven point that was reported by 'The Wrap' and other trades so yeah what more is there to say about that topic. If China/South Korea/Russia were still viable at the box office for most Hollywood films then you could have added more but that hasn't been figured out and might not ever be figured out. Plus, a thing like 'Superman' you know that the new merchandise and toys are likely flying off the racks.

I told yall back in June

I'd be impressed if it did 700m.

There's being famous and there's however you encapsulate being viral/trendy/hip (some of that is the person himself, some is the times they're in). i.e. Usher is top tier famous but that don't mean an Usher album in 2025 will go diamond like it did 25 years ago.

Everyone knows who Superman is, we just have to see how much 13 year-olds around the globe actually care in 2025. If they care to the tune of 650-700m in this somewhat post-renaissance era of comic book movies (an era that DC came away looking like failures), that'll be promising for them moving forward.

Scott Mendelson says 800M is the new billion due to China not supporting

It's not just China. Hollywood lost Russia also for obvious reasons and South Koreans don't go to the theater anymore due to streaming over there.

'Ant-Man' way back a decade ago made something like $175M with those three countries combined. If it came out today, that number would drop to like $20M combined.
