I still don't think the NBA is going to get a TV deal like that.

Turner Sports has money. As does Disney. But Disney has put in A LOT of money on other sports leagues including getting the NHL back.

Turner right now is paying $1.2 billion per year for the NBA which includes operating NBA TV, NBA.com, the All Star Game, and one of the Conference Finals. Disney is paying $1.4 billion per year for exclusive highlights, the NBA Finals, and the NBA Draft.

Even if they both double their current outlays... where is the NBA gonna get another $3 billion per year from?

I think they hoping that FOX jumps in somehow, NBA games on FS1 would be huge for them and I think them not outbidding Turner for NHL is them holding back money for a bigger package maybe the NBA or CFB playoffs when they are up.

NBA on borrowed time. It'll be nhl status one day. When u start playing inferior players that kinda guap, it'll breed resentment from fans

The type of hoe ass cac-minded fans that feel "resentment" towards players being properly compensated for the revenue they bring in, already don't watch the NBA... They're the "I only watch college ball because they play for the joy of the game" crowd that would likely find some other culture war reason to "resent" NBA players regardless of the salary cap

Furthermore chasing a cultural resentment fan is a fools errand

a lil off topic
but athlete salaries sky rocketing over the last two decades really shows the power of a union, even a shytty union like the NFLPA
average american wages have been stagnant over that same time period and min wage has not changed
i think that's partially the reason why people are STILL shocked when new deal details are reported.
You mad at Aaron Gordan being over paid but it's really because your brain is still wired to salaries being set to 2005 standards cause that's what yours is :dead:
These nikkas not overpaid....you just underpaid. The same way the Juwan Howards of the NBA went from making $100M to 200M to soon 300M
the Juwan Howards of your department should have seen equivalent increases in your workplace too but it's not happening
the linear growth of wealth isn't being distributed to common man like it is for people with leverage, like athletes
