As @east said you're already on notification with the FBI when you purchase a firearm.
My group is trying to encourage people to learn about firearm safety and gun ownership in general. My thing is if white folks can do it easily we should have the same knowledge too.
The moderators and I have been trying to not be political and to not make us be something like NFAC to avoid any notion we are "militant". I know it's safe but we have to put food on the table for our families so we can't take any heat from bad press.
What's good everyone? I created a group Black ATX Tactical last year and it's been gaining a lot of momentum.
I started this group on Facebook initially designed as a safe space for Black gun owners to gain information about firearms and find resources to help them through their self-defense journey. I didn't think anything of me making a little FB group but now we got over 1000 members strong and I'm trying to get more folks to help!
Coming from a martial arts background I like to immerse myself in anything self defense. A lot of my family come from a LEO/Military background but I didn't start shooting until a friend of mine got me into a few years ago and asked me why don't I own one.
While I know that firearms evoke polarizing feelings for many wherever you stand on the political spectrum I feel that people should at LEAST be educated on what they do and their capabilities then decide for themselves on their place in the world.
With all that's going on in the world now I wanted to take the time to get some training in for myself and want to try and encourage others to do the same.
Being a Black male I feel that being in this community I get questions from all sides about why I should own one. As a result I created Black ATX Tactical to provide education/training for us and help to redefine Black Gun Ownership.
I think I'm doing a service to Black folks, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, or identity so I'd urge y'all to help me support in this!

We haven’t met yet but I’m actually in Austin and me and my wife are planning on joining one of your classes after my Extar comes in!
But the community you built up is a wealth of information and I’m always using it to find the places around us that have ammo or get some good knowledge in.
That means a lot to me breh!
I hope to have 2-3 events in before the end of the year. Would love to meet you and the wife!
