I'm 38. I've NEVER bought an R Kelly album, NEVER blasted his music. I was calling him a statutory rapist in the mid-90s, as well as calling every dude the "I don't mess with guys my age" chicks as dealing with statutory rapists. I was telling them then that they were being manipulated. I was mostly told to MYOB or called a hater, or the equivalent of that word back then. Women I know talk about going to R Kelly concerts and I say "for what,...he won't even look at you, he'll look at your daughter." He's always been sick, this isn't new. What good would saying I'm disgusted now do, when I was saying then that that ish isn't cool and questioning why did people still support him, mostly women? He was a punchline for years, yet people still did nothing. The people my age and older knew or had suspicious, confirmed proof and still didn't care. This is because most of them were the girls getting picked up by the dboys from school. So they can miss me with the fake outrage.

He really isn't being publicly shunned, no more than the tape brought out. Hardly anything will happen now because most of the legal ramifications were beat. Court of public opinion doesn't matter in today's society, because the public is too fickle and microwaved. Next week it'll be something else. for those of you younger, that this is all new to you, I have to ask why is this new? This is public knowledge, so why are you just hearing about it? It makes you think about the gatekeepers of information. Hell, they even touched on it in the Aaliyah movie and that was just a couple of years ago, so where was that outrage?
