A lot of this is sharked from actual draft experts
Not really. I form my own opinions about players first and foremost. Then if I hear someone say something I agree with, I will acknowledge it. For example, I like listening to Chris Simms (former NFL QB) talk about the NFL on his podcast (Simms and Leftkoe). Early on in the process he also had Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson as the top 2 QBs in his rankings. I liked that he felt the same about them that I did and I do use some of his defenses as well (i.e. the fact Josh Allen's offense was not conducive to a high completion %). However, he also had Mayfield at #3 and I didn't agree with that. So I don't just agree with him on everything. I just find him to be better than most in the media.
Of the mainstream guys like Todd McShay, Mel Kiper, and Mike Mayock, I typically have no use for their bland opinions. I only use them as a resource to know who everyone thinks the top prospects are. Then I watch tape on them. If I agree then I rank those guys high (i.e. Saquon Barkley). However, if I don't agree (as is the case with most of my #1 players at the different position groups) then I don't listen to them.
