They both get rings.

KG with Nash and Finley

Dirk with Pierce and Allen

Edit:I can kinda tell the youth of some of you guys posting here(and this is coming from a 27 year old). There's no you truly saw and understood Garnett's greatness pre-Boston. The man was 25, 14 and 5 nightly while being the best defensive player in the NBA.

Please don't diminish the mans legacy because he was playing with garbage in Minnesota.

The Mavs are worse off in pretty much any scenario.

Dirk is a much better #1 scoring option and it should have 2 championships to his credit.

The Wolves? They probably fair better because you already have your scoring option and all he would need around him is defensive stoppers to thrive.

KG was the more versatile player, but an all time great and efficient scorer like Dirk outweighs all that versatility. We have already been down this road several years ago.

It's as simple as Dirk being a legit #1 scorer and KG was good, but not on that level.
Didn't they go 7 with Atlanta the year they won the chip?:francis:

Yeah and with dirk they lose in 6

2006 mavs wouldn't of got to the finals with kg

Dirk was owning the suns that playoff series had a 53 point game

Dirk beat the Spurs that year too. Kg wouldn't have done shyt against Duncan

2011 Mavs with KG dont beat Miami

:umad:
'
08' KG (same age as 11' DIrk) on that Mavs team and they could have beaten the Heat, KG could've given them 22/10, some blocks, and better passing. The difference he would make on the defensive end alone would be enough, and no one would be able to guard him down low. Dirk was a liability on defense, despite the scoring. Carlisle can coach.

It's part of the reason why I get annoyed when folks say Dirk carried his team to the ship with no help. Dude didn't have to do anything different defensively. the rest of his team shouldered that which allowed him to flourish offensively.
