Kg was the anchor of that d and the most important piece I don't see the C's winning a chip with dirk in his place

DALLAS WAS ALWAYS FULL OF OFFENSIVE TALENT
BUT DIDNT GET A RING TIL THEY SURROUNDED DIRK WITH DEFENSIVE GUYS.
WOLVES WOULD HAVE BEEN EVEN WORSE WITH DIRK,
THOSE SAME PIECES BEFORE SPREE/CASSELL
AND NO DEFENSE.

KG was better suited to being the anchor of a defensive minded championship team,he works much better on those 08-10 celtics teams or those mid 00s Piston teams.....He wouldnt have won a title as a primary scorer on a more offensive minded team that had to beat an elite scoring team like the heatles or the early 00s Lakers,Kings.

At their best, KG was slightly more valuable than Dirk. Sports fans get shyt twisted because Dirk was a one dimensional player that was capable of getting shut down until late in his career. Dirk's late career was much better than KG, but KG's prime was amazing. His defense is overlooked in that era because it was not flashy but it was effective. People started placing Dirk over KG in 2011 because memories are short and KG's drop off was drastic.

That same "super" team with Jamison and Antoine Walker couldnt beat the SAC Kings but im supposed to believe they would have won a title with KG

Dirk is a much better #1 scoring option and it should have 2 championships to his credit.
The Wolves? They probably fair better because you already have your scoring option and all he would need around him is defensive stoppers to thrive.
KG was the more versatile player, but an all time great and efficient scorer like Dirk outweighs all that versatility. We have already been down this road several years ago.

If KG joined the 11' mavs, they already were a good defensive team, so he wouldn't have given them the offense Dirk provided.
Dirk was allowed to be an offensive player on that 11' team without having to improve or add anything defensively. KG cannot provide the same offensive production asked of Dirk in 11'.
