except it was a massive record and Ye was clearly lying. Look up the stats. and if you were around at the time, you know how HUGE this record was for Ye. It's THE record (also with All Falls Down) that cemented Kanye as a legit rapper in the eyes of the Black community, particularly among Black women.

Saying "rapping about God don't get you nowhere" is that typical "we Christians are so prosecuted" nonsense that Christians are always trying to pull. Always trying to pretend like society at large aint trying to hear them, wanna keep them from their God and preventing them from expressing their faith, when in fact they're the largest group of believers in the fukking world. And the truth is that they're the ones trying to force religion down people's throats.

Record labels want whatever will make money. and the fact of the matter is that it's believers that buy into that strip club/trap house shyt far more than anyone else. It's a two-way hypocrite system that has strip clubs, liquor stores and churches in the grimiest of places (and nothing else). shyt's an ecosystem of fukkery.

your title of WOAT tell's me to not even respond to you but just to play along...

Kanye wasn't rapping about Jesus in that record, he actually was rapping about Rapping about Jesus. the message of the record was clear, it wasn't a Christ record it was a "If I make music outside of the norm, they won't play my shyt."

your title of WOAT tell's me

already giving up? :sas2:

WOAT deflection is always :mjlol:

but just to play along...

why would you do that if you've already determined it's pointless? :duck:

That cognitive dissonance is a motha...

that's juelz

everyone in the U.S. is a Christian? :comeon:

I know Christians who aren't even Christian, lol

spare me that judgmental interpretation "who is a true believer" bullshyt. The fact of the matter is that most people identify as Christian.

so pretending like "talking about Jesus is so dangerous, and they don't want me to tell you about Jesus" is laughable claptrap

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I don't knock it, but I don't jam it either.

is it accepted by mainstream? :russ: Hell no, Kanye even told us in his first record that rapping about God don't get you no where.
until I hear a christian rap song on hot 95 or local radio or someone bumping that shyt with they system all the way up then it's not accepted by mainstream.

these record labels don't want nikkas running to the church, they want us running to the strip clubs, the trap houses, the lean man, ect. etc. record labels ain't about to let no nikka get his soul saved
you didn't hear jesus walks :comeon:

if you listen to the interview, you see sway is talking about records like this..

it doesn't have to be "oh my lord lord lord" gospel hymns over trap beats

he's saying any record where you talking about god/jesus, praising him, or speaking on his influences to you, are christian raps... it doesn't have to be held into some little box... kinda like dudes is rapping over techno and rock beats and still saying it's hip hop... they trying to break the mold of what people contain it to

Please tell me where Kanye was preaching the gospel of Christ.

He was rapping about how not rapping about fukkery wouldn't get him played.
God show me the way because the Devil trying to break me down
(Jesus walks with me)
The only thing that that I pray is that my feet don't fail me now
(Jesus walks)
And I don't think there is nothing I can do now to right my wrongs
(Jesus walks with me)
I want to talk to God but I'm afraid because we ain't spoke in so long

To the hustlers, killers, murderers, drug dealers even the strippers
(Jesus walks with them)
To the victims of Welfare for we living in hell here hell yeah
(Jesus walks with them)
Now hear ye hear ye want to see Thee more clearly
I know he hear me when my feet get weary
Cause we're the almost nearly extinct
We rappers are role models we rap we don't think
I ain't here to argue about his facial features
Or here to convert atheists into believers
I'm just trying to say the way school need teachers
The way Kathie Lee needed Regis that's the way I need Jesus

this is literally the only part of the song he talks about rap

So here go my single dog radio needs this
They say you can rap about anything except for Jesus
That means guns, sex, lies, video tapes
But if I talk about God my record won't get played Huh?
Well if this take away from my spins
Which will probably take away from my ends
Then I hope this take away from my sins
And bring the day that I'm dreaming about
Next time I'm in the club everybody screaming out

read above where i clearly said gospel rap isn't confined to solely preaching over trap beats

shyt not even the songs we sing in church are SOLELY the gospel of jesus... jesus didn't have bars and stanzas

No, I didn't read your part about gospel rap not being confined to preaching over trap beats. and I even agree with that.

but I said the song in question now (kanye song) isn't about jesus, it's about how if he doesn't rap to the norm of what music was at the time then they wouldn't play him.
then I asked you to tell me where he was speaking on the gospel of christ in the song, you quoted some lyrics but you didn't quote me any gospel of Christ.

I personally do not think he was rapping about Jesus in the sense a christian rapper would, I think the song "Jesus Walks" pertains to him being limited in his artistic expression. :yeshrug:
