No, I didn't read your part about gospel rap not being confined to preaching over trap beats. and I even agree with that.

but I said the song in question now (kanye song) isn't about jesus, it's about how if he doesn't rap to the norm of what music was at the time then they wouldn't play him.
then I asked you to tell me where he was speaking on the gospel of christ in the song, you quoted some lyrics but you didn't quote me any gospel of Christ.

I personally do not think he was rapping about Jesus in the sense a christian rapper would, I think the song "Jesus Walks" pertains to him being limited in his artistic expression. :yeshrug:
no he never spoke the actual gospel

the first verse is about chicago and how it's fukked up... at the end he says his mom told him, he needs jesus

the chorus is him talking to god/jesus... with it repeating about how jesus walks with him

the first half of the second verse he is clearly rapping about how we all need jesus... the bad people, jesus walks with them... then he says how he needs jesus as well... then says he's not trying to convert you, just tell you that he needs jesus

only in the last 8 bars does he talk about not getting play cause he's talking about jesus
