The Odyssey team is working on the new DK game, which comes out next month. If I had to guess a new 3D Mario game would come after the follow up to the Mario Movie. Pure speculation on my part.

By next week I expect reviews. Nintendo didn't send systems pre-release for the usual reviewers.

I asked my oldest son if he wanted one as a Final high school graduation gift and that nikka gave me the and proceeded to give me all the reasons he like

- something about the proprietary cord and how using a non Nintendo cord will Brick your shyt and costs 200 to fix
- online system still janky
- always online DRM
- way overpriced
- games ain't there
- screen worse than his OG switch (Questioned why not OLED at that price)
- not a big Mario Kart fan
- Joycons having stick drift out the box

nikka had me like and he's been a big Nintendo guy all his life so far. Did get him a gaming laptop 3 Christmases ago so he's more into Steam and console

Said he's buying a steamdeck instead

Even he tired of Nintendo's shenanigans

That's crazy cause it's the OPPOSITE with me..MY kid saved up money and pre-orderd his switch 2 months ago, lil brother pre-orderd his as well, both copped yesterday.

I'm seeing nerds camped outside of GameStop.

The ONLY reason I didn't get a switch 2 is cause I'm newly married and that would look CRAZY I come home with a gaming system and we got shyt we supposed to be doing.

Oh, and my backlog for switch 1 titles is crazy, I got too many games already...I don't have time to play anymore

With Nintendo's current model, at some point you outgrow them and move on from it being your main console. Even those on here copping it like me. PS5 or PC is their main console of choice. While Switch is secondary. Kind of like how it was with all the Nintendo handhelds.

Even though the OG Switch didn't have much easier, BOTW was fukking huge. Not saying Mario Kart isn't huge it is, but I don't think people are in a rush to play Mario Kart like they did for BOTW. I am curious how much the DK game will sell next month given DK's new design from the Mario movie, and it's the first single player first party.


I mean it is much more notably powerful then the OG Switch. But if you play on PC or console, that prob won't matter much.

They prob sold more today than the whole lifecycle of the Wii U.

To be fair, OG Switch was lightning in a bottle. I’m not sure why BotW resonated so well with casuals because before that Zelda games were not selling like that.
For all the complaints people have about Nintendo “gimmicks” it’s truly the reason why some of their systems took off the way they did.
I don’t expect Switch 2 to sell like the OG, but I still think it’ll be a success.

The switch 2 objectively outperforms the steam deck none of these pc handhelds are the equivalent to a Ferrari….
if you want a Ferrari get a desktop pc.

The steam deck released 3.5 years ago, it should drastically outperform it. the difference is marginal.
