Numbers do lie sometimes. Streets really haven't been buzzing about this like the Switch 1. I bought one and proceeded to return it several days later. I can't imagine how many people just have it collecting dust in their house.

In reality 10 million people is a drop in the bucket compared to the billions that play games everyday.

Hell some singular games get more than 10 million players in a month. Fortnight gets 110 million every month.

About 3% of the US population has one. You probably wouldn't. Considering some of the sales are outside the US it's probably more like 2% or less.

That may be historic but this is probably the most prepared a console maker has been to launch a modern console. Usually they are supply constrained for a year or more so they can't sell that fast. The Wii and Switch were difficult to get for a long time after launch. Even the PS5 and Xbox Series X were difficult to get for a while.

The sales comparison at this point means little to nothing because whatever you're comparing it to was supply constrained and couldn't sell as fast to begin with. That's not downplaying anything. This could go on to sell 200 million units or it could go on to sell 80 million. At this point we don't know shyt.

It’s outsold the Dreamcast, its gonna outsell the Wii U by end of this month and it will outsell the GameCube by spring.

The console still has to have a considerable amount of demand regardless of stock to sell over 20 million units in less than a a year
