I know it did and I personally don't think that's the best way to go about it. The natural hair Shea butter chicks and ratchets are damn near bloods and crips. There is a segment who appreciates both but like guvnor said, the amount of side chick music is offputting for the early fans who listened to her prior to this.

Anyway, this is all pretty frivolous as I simply don't have faith in the ability for any type of black female singers to get on.

Seems like this is another case of the Coli being completely out of touch with reality. I've seen a lot of love for this album and I've noticed her fanbase building up quite a bit over the last few months. This album had a decent amount of hype. People were getting "Ctrl" tattoos for some reason before this thing even had a release date.

r&b singers whose fanbases are primarily made up of non-urban rap fans.

Nah, teedra was part of the era that still produced decent careers - ciara and keyshia cole came out after her. She was just a tad old for a debut artist (29) and on a small label without the right connections.

ive never heard of her before last week but i listened to her album off the breakfast club interview and she seem straight.. i heard worse acts become popular
