I see what you mean OP. Two main differences:

- I don't think sza has really gotten that mainstream push Tinashe got yet. I mean label push yeah but TDE is weird. Kendrick is the only one who really picked up in the mainstream. Q is kinda in C list purgatory, Soulo fell off, Jay Rock never made it, Isiah is disregarded. So it may just be TDE or just the Tinashe treatment

But yeah man it's hard for attractive black females to break into the upper tier it seems. Makes you wonder what did Rihanna do so right?

Rihanna is a Pop star, TOTALLY different lane. In Pop it's a huge plus to be attractive

I think sza would've done better keeping classy, there's a market/loyal fanbase for soulful artists, the "mainstream" r&b lane is fickle if not dead, like i don't know why she's trying to swerve into it. She's trying to be both and it's isolating what could be a bigger core group of fans. She should at least have the solange buzz

I still need to check out her new album, but I was always meh about her as an artist. She kills features though and her collabs with Isiah Rashad are simply . Yet, a whole album from her is snoozeville.

I rather hear a follow up album from Lance Skiiiwalker and SiR to be honest.

Sza has found her lane look & sound & has just been sitting & waiting for her release date...

She finally got it & even if you dont like her album im pretty sure she's gonna do good numbers & have a few successful singles

She make way better music then Tinashe but this side piece music she doing on her latest album ain't for me. I can't relate to it but some of it is good and a few songs will go on the playlist. Sza got a future though, you give a few of her songs to Rihanna and they hits. Tinashe don't have that writing ability going for her. Her music that is not on her mixtape is by and large trash.

Lol soulful artist ain't really selling though. She got to get to the bread. With few exceptions but even Anderson Paak is making more money off tours then record sales and his music is fire.

Anyway I like the album a lot. SZA did a better job making a mainstream album without watering down her artistry then Tinashe did imo
