I used to love this girl :mjcry:

Watch em bleeeeed, I like it.:blessed:

Her latest album felt very mediocre to me, just couldnt vibe to it like her old stuff. Trying way to hard to be Frank Ocean on some of the tracks.

don't quit your day job. this is not a hit. the hook isn't catchy and the verses have like 10 different parts. hits are simple
Good point. Lots of her songs structure are just too complicated. Cant really explain it but theres always like one catchy part and then she starts just rambling. The Weekend is another good example on that album.

I'm surprised that the Wu hasnt said anything about her calling herself SZA. Isn't that a violation?

No reason why this song couldn't be a hit if marketed right

Anyway I like the album a lot. SZA did a better job making a mainstream album without watering down her artistry then Tinashe did imo

Wow, I like this. :whew:

Ghost already approached her and explained the importance of being original while Rae was in the background co signing how being original will make you a better man.

Everywhere...You never there.
sza seems to lack that type of fanbase to me, partially because she's trying to be ratchet mainstream as well as be the shea butter nag champa chick

Huge thread on the underlined ... I'll always say, black artists, particularly black female recording artists, kill their careers before they even get started going down that lane. And they're being steered that way by design. :smh:

Folks might as well go the "world tour background singer for a popular white pop singer" route before you languish in the bowels of "urban radio ratchetry" route... fukk that. :camby:

Probably make just as much if not more money doing the former...

It's crazy how literally overnight people started talking about her like she's just an established known artist

No hit single, no massive radio play, nothing. Put an urban artist on bossip, mto, balleralert, get them an interview on breakfast club, and that's all you need.

social media really lets you see the music machines brainwashing effect on the masses in real time :ohhh:

Sounds like a Rihanna wanna be. There is just no originality anymore:francis:

if you had played me this song without the picture attached to it, i'd be lost.

this isn't a bad track, but you give this song to anybody and it'll sound like this

I havent checked on Sza in about 6 yrs. She was a dope artist then and not at all sexual. In fact, I think she did 1 interview and she claimed to be an awkward Muslim virgin that smoked weed. When did she switch up?
Literally like a week ago she was just on TBC, Sway and Everyday Struggle and she was doing her typical eclectic, deep, shea butter impersonation talking about astrology and zodiac signs but people in the comments where going in on her talking bout she boring and they tired of the fake woke shyt.

I guess her label took note and are trying to push her differently. Blame TDE they are horrendus when it comes to developing talent not named Kendrick or Q to a lesser degree.

I see what you mean OP. Two main differences:

- I don't think sza has really gotten that mainstream push Tinashe got yet. I mean label push yeah but TDE is weird. Kendrick is the only one who really picked up in the mainstream. Q is kinda in C list purgatory, Soulo fell off, Jay Rock never made it, Isiah is disregarded. So it may just be TDE or just the Tinashe treatment
- Tinashe aint no damn average artist nikka

But yeah man it's hard for attractive black females to break into the upper tier it seems. Makes you wonder what did Rihanna do so right?

She a habitual liar, a common trait among the smutted. Even the freckles is fake
SZA has gotten the online push that could very easily be mistaken for a major label push in this day and age.
And Q has gotten heavily pushed as well, especially with Oxymoron. Also: Jay Rock was the original famous one, he had a popular song with Wayne maybe 8 or 9 years ago, and brought TDE to the forefront.
