Other genres when they tour, they market to a crowd that grew up on that, they not trying to cater to teenagers and new fans to fill the seats. Theyll do a theme and stage presence for all the classics they have. If 50 cent marketed a tour "Get Rich or Die Trying 15 year annivesary tour" with Fabolous and Jeezy on the undercard, it would probably sell out most arenas
But they still try to tour off their new music or what they perceive as hits. If 50 cent came out with a "street king immortal" tour tomorrow no one would give a shyt Rappers are used to being "the man" so it seems like its hard for them to notice when theyve lost the grasp on the next wave of potential fans. Guns n Roses aint trying to push new singles and tour off that, they catering to the crowd that helped them sell millions. The Bad Boy tour did really well, same with the Millenium 2k tour (b2k, pretty ricky, etc).

That's the exact definition of "square." Nothing wrong with it as a father, but it was damaging for his trap king persona.
Hard to take all that trap and gun talk the same when we see you as a Huxtable parent with your own kids calling you "out of touch." It really made the hip-hop target demographic see him in the same light as their parents. No teenager wants to listen to their parent's music.
Like it or not, those two personalities don't mesh well, especially when the music is subpar.
