No. Em was part of the machine too. Em was a white dude doing something percieved as "black music" - thats marketable. He came out during the MTV era, hence why alot of his fanbase are teenagers - white at that - who grew up with shows like TRL etc and only know about 5-6 rappers well (mostly Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre (yeah, see him as a rapper too. Funny huh?), Em himself, 50 Cent, 2pac & Biggie). So it was just about ratings, demographics, marketing, deals, advertisments etc with him too.

Why you think Taylor Swift - a current popular artist - performs at EVERY award shows EVERY year and the camera flashes her face & reaction EVERY minute? It's a business. ALWAYS been like that.

Whether you and i think a person talented or not has nothing to do with the convo & how it works.

It's a sad era where these old rappers can linger around approaching their 10th solo album. They really have nothing to give anymore & fans seem oblivious as to why.

It's exactly what you were saying in one of those 90's R&B threads where you had artist/groups release 1 or 2 albums & you never heard from them again. It was way better that way, because artist weren't around giving the fans bullshyt.
