This is all facts. I think the issue is alotta South nikkas especially ATL came out here and had a culture shock back in the day. nikkas got booed or whatever but they didn't understand we are the home of the Apollo we will boo the fukk out of our own legends. If you aint bringing the shyt nikkas will let u know. Them nikkas aint have tough skin like that cause their culture was different over there and u can tell with all the participation points they tend to give out over there regardless of talent or lack there of. That mixed with certain NY media made them nikkas think we aint fukk wit them but that was FAR from the truth. If yo shyt was dope nikkas fukked wit it.
It was definitely rough for them back then. Late 80's, early 90's. But they have to understand, we did that to our own too, lol. NY was the gatekeepers back then. But even if you were from here, you'd still get booed if your shyt wasn't correct. But if you're an out-of-towner, I'm sure that hits you a lot harder. But if your shyt was dope, NY was always the first to show love and support. We were blowing up mad ATL shyt back then, and still do it today.
We were already fukking with Outkast heavy before 3000 did that speech at the Source awards. But they always felt like we weren't, lol. They still think it's 1989 and NY is the end-all for approval. So when they feel slighted, they go back to thinking it's because they're not from here. The game is mad different now. There's no region that you need approval from, to pop. You can be from literally anywhere and still blow shyt out the water. But a lot of ATL artists are still stuck on this "NY this, NY that" shyt. It's wild annoying.
