Right

Matchup limits Bus to just his more party, commercial hits

While Missy the producer, songwriter, singer doesn't get to really shine

Those party joints are Busta's bread and butter. What part of that aren't ya'll getting?

Ti wants nothing more than to be remembered higher than what he really is.....

He had a great career...biut the truth of the matter is Jeezy/Gucci excluded him from that ATL spot he always coveted....and I don't know any current buzzing youngster that is a TI protege

When T.I. had his run, he was clearly the biggest artist in ATL. T.I. ruined his whole run by

1) Staying in trouble

2) Co-signing and doubling down on the co-sign of Iggy Azalea

3) Becoming ATL'S unofficial spokesman against social injustices

4) Talking to much, which undermines #3 when he was out here talking about his daughter's hymen. The public didn't need to know that. It undoes whatever voice he might've had because feminists and just people in general were dumbfounded and disturbed by that.

Who said Busta wasn't multi-dimesnsional?

My point still stands, Busta MADE his name by making fun, club ready energetic songs. Those are the joints that MADE people cop his albums. Lyrical, street hop wasn't Busta. That was more so what was wanted from Mobb Deep and Nas. They do more than lyrical street hop, but that wasn't as received as those joints.

You don't even know hip hop history which is why you keep making ridiculous post like this. Busta blew up in 1991 by bodying the legends known as a tribe called quest on their own record. He was already major and known from leaders of the new school but scenario put him on the map. Scenario was a pure 90's street hip hop record.

A few years later Flavor in your ear was another street record with some the biggest rap artists of all time in puff and biggie and ll cool j and Busta again destroys the record. This was a street record featuring goats btw for those who said busta can't hang with them.

It isnt until mid 90s Busta drops his first solo hit single in woo hah. This was a top 10 record that year And get this.. it's a street record. He is spitting. The whole "the coming" album is 90s gritty boom bap hip hop.

His 2nd album got put your hands where my eyes can see but it's still a harder street album overall from beats to the lyrics. It's not goofy mindless club music. He is rapping rapping still.

I would say Party fun lighted hearted Busta doesn't even start until late 90s and his 3rd solo album ELE. That's when you get the gimme some mo records etc.. he is already a multi platinum artist at this point that blew up off street records.

"Scenario" is still a fun joint. And because YOU don't know your history, ATCQ and that whole Native Tongues movement was a MAJOR influence on Missy.

"Flava in Your Ear" was also a club joint. And you know who had the best verse, Biggie.

The Coming isn't all boom bap and Busta definitely isn't some gritty boom bap rapper. "Woo-Hah" had Busta using an unorthodox style over an unorthodox beat. Completely outside the box for 1996. It sounded like nothing else.

NOBODY looks at Busta's albums as hard, street albums. They are light hearted for the most part even with the apocalyptic album titles.

Busta Rhymes DID NOT BLOW UP OFF STREET RECORDS. That's a HUGE history re-write.

Also, Busta Rhymes was NEVER multi-platinum.

Busta was platinum. You cant split hairs if you want but doesn't change a thing. When busta blew up it was still about beats rhymes flows and lyrics. Back then if you were considered wack you would get called out. Nobody would call new york backpack or boom bap rap pop music. Scenario was still a street record by 90's standards. It wasnt gangsta rap.. it was just 90s rap. And it was still street. Mainstream pop hip hop back then was run dmc, kid n play, hammer, or the ladies joints LL cool J was doing etc.

Missy blew up in the super producer era. Beats and production overshadowed lyrics. That's why she got away with the abc 123 goo goo gaga basic ass lyrics on her biggest songs cause Timbo carried her with the production and he was on fire at that time.

The coming was indeed a gritty ass album. Woo ha was the only radio type record on it. The rest is gritty. And busta had his own sound and carved his own lane. He wasnt in the pop fun category back then.

T.I Got to big to try and be hood, intellectual and gangsta.

He was basically a pop artist at one point, co signed a huge hiphop turn pop white chick and kept his business out in the open and on TV.

While still trying to be a hood scholar.

He really took it as far as he could but at one point you just have to pick lanes

You have no idea what you are talking about. Even then in the 90's, there was all kinds of music that people considered wack and that music was bigger than what people considered "real Hip Hop". And New York Hip Hop was definitely divided. ATCQ and Wu Tang weren't the same. ATCQ was definitely more backpack and Leaders of The New School was a branch off of that. It was light hearted Hip Hop. Nothing wrong with that. Hip Hop EMBRACED diversity. "Scenario" wasn't going to be looked at in the same light as an Onyx record. Huge difference.

Missy got away with basic lyrics because again, people understand the difference between a rapper making fun, light hearted music and somebody that comes out sounding like the 2nd coming of Rakim. Two DIFFERENT lanes.

Breh, you have not listened to The Coming. All of that album was not some boom bap, gritty sounding rap. The second single featured Zhane and it definitely wasn't gritty.

Busta's prime was DURING the super producer era. Busta has songs on HIS albums with Janet Jackson, Ozzy Osbourne, and Mariah Carey. Nas nor Jay could get away with that. Jay has Mariah on Vol. 3 and people treat that song like it's an abomination. Busta could get away with it because again those songs are well within his wheel house without it being corny.

Busta has ALWAYS been the fun MC.

At this point I don’t wanna say he desperate for a battle. But he really wanna battle someone and wants the clout that comes from a verzuz battle like the dipset/lox joint.

He should battle busta rhymes tho. That’ll be interesting. T.I. Would lose though
