In the north east you just ask people their name and they will make a point of telling you they are Irish Catholic...
Born and raised in NY, breh.
I rarely ever seen it happen.

People will say they're Irish or Catholic or Jewish or Italian.

But you never hear them say "I'm Jewish-American". I'm "Italian American".

White is just white. Black people have to identify as "African American" because the subtext is that by defaulting to American, it equals "white".

Yeah your're right about the not saying American thing... but I feel like saying "Hi, I'm African" for some reason implies you were born there. Like no idea why because it's the same thing, people just take it differently.

In the Silver Lining
The powers that be are trying to take our identity and source of pride away from us and Raven Simone and Clifford are encouraging it. Sad. We used to be black and proud. Not so much now apparently.

The world itself is in an interesting state of flux.........we are just part of that larger dynamic.
I agree though, there is an aspect of removing the African-ness out of our culture......and just when starting seeing hints of African and African-American collaboration......little things start to pop up to hurt that relationship....:smugfavre:

Nah there are still people out there who are black and proud. It's listening to entertainers and believing that their words are more important than the average person that is the problem.

Negativity (Kayfabe)
Remember. The term "African American" is something that started in the 80s.
I know better.

This whole " we're all the same" is a way to marginalize the problems of ppl who face deliberate discrimination.

And black pp or cosigning it to make white ppl comfortable. It is a farce.

Of that's the case the NRA would have a field day with Wal-Mart and PD that murdered John Crawford for carrying in a open carry state. Buy, his behind is black/African-American b4 anything.

I'm surprised you'd lend credence to such a logic fallacy.
Raven is right though. I've never seen a white person referred to him/herself as a European-American. Have you?

Because no one challenges r
their humanity, based on their skin color, on the daily."

This what I mean by nikkas being greedy and all bout self... TI has made enough money in his career where he shouldn't have to c00n to survive. And if he hasnt all the jiving in the world aint gone stop him from going broke once the music is done.
The thing about it is he works hard. He has attained a certain lifestyle. On top of maintaining this level of lifestyle he is still young, so he is gonna want to work doing something regardless. He has a limited amount of choices to make enough money to keep that lifestyle, provide for his people and stay out of trouble. He is most likely trying to set something up that can his people can benefit off of for years to come. He might as well keep making music since it is something that he really knows how to do well. Its entertainment at the end of the day and it aint like he was never into the stuff he raps about. :manny:.

TI always been a hoe

T.I. is gucci mane certified as far as reputation goes. His stories may not reckless as gucci mane but I have never heard nothing about t.i. hoeing up during a situation.:manny:
