Re-Read my post homie. I said "more of a flop" which means that yes I think Lupe flopped (though I dont give a fukk because Drogas is amazing).

I was making a statement about their relative positions in the game and the expectations that come with that.

Only one has over 9 million IG followers, was a huge seller in the past, a movie "star", had a hit tv show, did interviews promoting the album, and is still close to be a rapper that people "check for."

This shyt is a flop.

None of what you post culminates into that album being a flop especially you inplying that 24K is more of a flop than 5K. Lupe has been far more active than T.I. and in this decade, Lupe had an album that sold as much the biggest album T.I. dropped this decade (Lasers sold around what both Trouble Man and No Mercy sold).

Being in movies, having TV shows, IG followers doesn't translate into sales.

That's the problem. He didn't have any strong singles, so how did this flop. He sold 80K with two strong singles in 2014 and people were really expecting good numbers in 2018 for an album that didn't have

1) strong singles

2) someone whose music has sold less with each album this decade

3) he catered this album to people who were fans of his during the Trap Muzik era of his career

4) nothing indicated that this album one be the one that catapulted him back to where he was with Paper Trail or even Trouble Man.

TI been working on this for 4 years and just signed a new deal with Epic. However big or small,there was some effort put forth on this album and he was on a press run to all the major outlets.

If this was dropped randomly as a mixtape type project and no real effort, then maybe the 25k gets more leniency. If this had a decent single it would help. This has low streams and no hot single.

That means little chance of this making much of a profit to justify the big deal I hope he got. Gonna be harder to greenlight anything else from him if this is what we get after this long build up he's done for this.

Kinda similar to Nipsey and Victory Lap. However you feel about the music, the numbers aren't there and on a major it's about numbers.

Yall forget ageism plays a part as well for ti’s low sales. When you get a certain age your songs dont have as much pull on radio anymore.

Wayne sold well because carter 5 was anticipated for 5+ years.

I respect what hes trying to do with his content but it's clearly not connecting.
