this is a flop plain n simple. That doesnt mean its trash. Tips days are behind him, he makes music for the die hards now. But this is most certainly a flop popularity wise. Who knows tho, business wise he could still be making money off it

This isn’t a flop.

Flop means not meeting expectations

Listened to this whole album front to back at work tonight and.... not 1 memorable song to add to the playlist :francis:
Wraith
Laugh At Em
At Least I Know
Jefe
More and More
Be There
Light Day
Pray for Me

All those tracks are dope. The first two are stand outs. Laugh At Em is probably the best track on the album.

This isn't his best album but it's mid to upper tier for him.
Gave this a spin last night. Definitely some heat on here.

Some of y'all got horrible taste
This album was initially underwhelming for me but within days it grew on me fast. It's a nice album. It's not Trap Muzik but it's solid.

I dint know he had album coming out until I watched that breskfastclub interveiw. He always has a big single tho. That was missing this time around. I dont think it's over from him though. His approach is going to be different next time

Album is pretty good though he had one too many references to the 90s.

I mean Tip can really still rap but he is older now so people don't want to hear it. Also music changed so much it's hard to make successful commercial music now a days that isn't retarded sounding or super melody driven. If I was in his position I would retire and go out with grace but who knows, maybe he has another hit in him.

Why should he retire if he loves rapping and making music?

It's not like hes reaching or compromising his sound to get a hit, hes just making trap music like he always has but with a more mature outlook.

He had 5 Platinum albums followed by 2 gold. He's already done better and had more longevity than 95% of rappers out there.

I don't really understand why people have big expectations for him when hes been doing his thing now for close to 20 years.

Cause he is not going to see the same success and ideally you should want to go out on top.

You said it better then me, he almost been doing this for 2 decades. He isn't in the trap anymore and at this point he should be past it though I respect him trying to bring a more mature perspective into it but still. It doesn't come off fresh or cool coming from him or innovative enough which is why most people won't play it or give him a chance.

I don't really listen to much Young Thug, or T.I (anymore, he was a favorite in his early prime) but that The Weekend is an anthem, I wish the lyrics were sharper, instead of appealing to mainstream so much, but it's still very dope.

Off a quick listen, it's very much like his 2014 album, well intended and well arranged, he needs to focus, drop a 12 track, tightened up version of something like this. As much in length, as concept.
