Rubberband Man was every 4th song on the radio growing up in NC and I'm not exaggerating. You'd switch to another station after that one finished playing it and that station was half way through the song too. He shouted us out towards the end of it and everybody loved that shyt. Only other one that did that around that time Petey Pablo but that won't this Tip was cool as fukk

24s got tons of play at night too. I still think King is his best body of work but the highs on TM aren't far from UL/King imo

Like somebody said Trap Muzik > Urban Legend > King is one of the greatest runs in rap history without a doubt. Add in NY fell off around this time, Jay was washed, 50 couldn't follow GRODT, Outkast vanished, Wayne wasn't Wayne yet, Tip was the hottest in the world and carried the ball unopposed it seemed like. nikka was unstoppable in 06

To have good punchlines, you have to be a good writer :skip:

Punchlines, double entendres, similies, metaphors, wordplay, and storytelling are all elements of writing

So saying someone is a punchline rapper, wordsmith, or storyteller is all the same shyt

And yes, a boxer beating another boxer makes him the better boxer :heh:

Type of dumb shyt is that to say :dead:

If he so good, why is he getting his ass whooped. You better but you the one laid out and bleeding out :laff:

Most people would agree that Ludacris is more lyrical than T.I.

You're the first I've seen imply the opposite

I will say, luda being more animated and over the top does make ti seem like a more "serious" type of rapper

Luda is in the same category as busta, e 40, and redman. For some reason, comical rappers don't get respected as much even though they have bars :manny:

Only the white boy has been able to escape the stigma and get constantly included in top five discussions :mjpls:

If anything they are overrated and I'm saying this as a person you bought a Ludacris album as my first rap album.

It wasn't the term. Before T.I., trap was just a reference for where hustlers were made bread from whatever it was they were selling. It wasn't something associated with music outside of that. T.I. gave us way more insight and it actually became its own sub genre.
T.I. And DJ TOOMP created trap muzik. The producer is just as important.

is it me or does Let’s Get Away sound different on streaming?
The original album cut’s hook was different. I don’t know the word for it but it was in a different key/pitch, whatever. And I think Jazzy Pha was singing the hook alone. The music video had the changes with the lady singer included. The original was my personal favorite of the two.

:mjlol:I always felt like T.I was a rapper that females took serious. He has one song I like, "Be Easy", that's the hardest song he ever made. Other than that, he's one of the most overrated rappers of all time.

Nikka please. Luda killed that man

"These rapper's think I'm ig-nent, love sayin' my name
'Cause maintainin my fish tank, and they house, cost the same
Ask me, I'd say I made it, and it sure wasn't luck
'Cause hustler's relate to me, and some are younger than buck
You see I'm married to my music, but we got a prenupt
So if that bytch don't act right, I'm still gettin my cut
My deals never get screwed, my contracts practice abstinence
I'm masterin this program, hazin' these undergraduates
So, pimpin' be easy, quit catchin' feelings
'Cause you worth a couple hundred grand, and I'm worth millions
Nobodies thinkin' about you, plus your beats ain't legit
So please stay off the T.I.P. Of my dikk"
Ludacris (you don’t know me like that) and T.I. (You don’t know me) put out similar songs with 3 months of each other. Which sounded better? That should tell you which was the better artist. You also seem to forget that after the verse you posted, Hustle and Flow soundtrack executive producer credits switched from DTP to Grand Hustle. Soundtrack went on to win several Oscar’s (now you tell me who won-in my 2pac voice)
