T.I. Was ALWAYS A Better WRITER Than Luda

The only time an MC of similar or equal caliber, success, and notoriety sends shots at another MC and that MC doesn’t respond, its because he’s scared of either two things

1). He’ll be physically harmed (Luda nor his camp was gonna physically touch muthafukkin T.I.)

2). He’ll get a lyrical smackdown that could damage his reputation and career


Fact is T.I. Ain’t want it with Luda, which using process of elimination means that Tip respected that Luda’s WRITING and BARS would give him problems.

I’d honestly say Luda as a writer is the equal of Tip. Luda just never chose to put an emphasis on “serious” or “street” music until the back half of his career, and when he DID get a little deeper with his subject matter, again, it was at least the equal of T.I’s from a WRITING perspective. Neither are in the running for the elite of lyrical MC’s.

There is actually video of TI running up on Luda back in the day and standing on stage while he's performing.

Luda was arguably a better feature rapper than Tip though.

I remember Luda getting featured in tons of rapper's songs and remixes in 00-05.

He was like the premier feature rapper before Wayne took over.

Because of that alone, I haven't heard more TI than Luda at functions. In fact, they both had tons of club bangers.

Move Bytch could still get jammed as a throwback to this day. And he had the most memorable lyric on "Yeah!"

This..If you weren't in the clubs in their primes you can't really talk what was played where. Luda had shyt on lock..bruh had the white boys in my fukking dorm playing southern hospitality like it was the best shyt they ever heard lol

TI is a more advanced writer than Ludacris without a doubt...but Luda did whip his ass tho in their exchange, lol, do remember.

And Luda has other facets of MC'ing that are very high level...like his presence, his voice, his projection, flows, etc... The actual writing of the bars might be his weakest attribute.

He has variety and range in his flows and subject matter, plus a bunch of dope albums and hit records and also, More Creative and original subject matter (Oh T.I. made another trap song?...) Ludacris is a perfect introduction point for digesting rap music.

This thread is crazy to me.

I grew up in GA in an all Black community during the 00s and I remember quite well that TI had the city on lock way more than Luda. Luda is obviously loved and was an ATL legend before he even started rapping but when it came to the rap game, TI was more respected as an emcee. You played TI albums while only listened to Luda's hits. And it's not cuz of TI being more street. He was lyrical, southern, could make every type of song and create quality, cohesive albums.

I guess the rest of the nation saw it differently like I know White people like Luda way more than TI IDK but they both doing their thing in the acting world. Well TI was doing well.
