What was his body of work before 1999 :comeon:

What buzz did he have in the city

How was he grinding for years when he got signed at 15 what you talking about

He was discovered off a WorldStar freestyle and then had resources put into him he’s a clear plant from the blog era can’t even break down the points made instead getting emotional

There was already a poster here who was a Pro Era stan who broke down the business, the Steez shyt, what the collective was supposed to be and how Joey was chose and put at the forefront

His rise compared to most 2010’s NYC acts was inorganic (funny ya nikkas had no problem calling A$AP Rocky or Dave East a plant on here who ain’t come up as fast) it’s nothing wrong with it either like I said because he’s pure talent

Also stop harping on lil shyt that wasn’t the point of that post and that post 100% facts not “bullshyt” you almost never know what you’re talking about
Cinematic Music Group had a bunch of artists at the time. Smoke DZA, Nipsey, Joey, I think even KRIT was close. Having a label, especially a small one doesn't make you a plant. Joey put in a lot of work over the years and the music clearly spoke to people. How is this even remotely related to the topic?

This is why I’m saying nothing will ever change. We can talk about how black folks get around each other and gang culture and all that shyt, but it’s the easy access to guns that make the killings possible. We want to talk about all these other issues (violence in rap, wild kids, etc) without confronting the real issue which is guns. No guns and 99% of the rappers killed would still be here. But we never getting rid of guns in this country. It’s our identity. It’s who we are. We literally try to solve the gun problem by giving more access to guns. It’s so fukking backwards that it’s practically barbaric. And the reality is it will never change. I’m saddened by that fact.
It is sad. The only way to escape gun violence in America is to leave America. Americans don't understand not every country in the world is like this. You can live peacefully without everyone toting.

Humans are violent by nature. Take away the guns and they’ll just use something else to kill. Look at the UK, access to guns is harder out there but n!ggas is getting stabbed left and right

5M monthly on Spotify isn’t a lot

His YT views are low

U know that’s not the sound LA youth gravitates to en masse

If you went outside and asked most people wouldn’t even know who he is

Stop projecting because you don’t wanna see reality

No one is coming at the art form of hip hop
Cool.

I know where you stand.

Do you breh.

You cats have to ignore that Matt504 poster. He been on this bullshyt. Whenever hip-hop folks do something positive or a group of black folk come together and do something positive without any negative actions, he's ghost. He's been doing that on this forum for years.
He also doesn’t speak on white mass shooters or the young white male proclivity to extreme violence for no reason other than wanting to harm others. Not even worth engaging anymore.

What's crazy about this is the man got shot in front of like 20 people. A bunch of eyewitnesses. Security cameras. Phone cameras. Yet the police has to beg on Youtube for leads and videos and you already know there won't be any statements. There are no arrests. It might be time to wake up from this mob bullshyt. Street code is a form of justice. If a dude kills an innocent person and gets away with it because he's with the family, then that's not justice. It's corruption.

I don’t disagree with that at all. Humans are violent by nature. But guns do a lot more damage and takeoff being killed by a stray bullet is a perfect example of that. Plus you stand a chance of running away from a knife. A bullet? Not so much. Killings via knives are happening in the UK but it’s no comparison per capita to the gun killings in any state in the US.
