RIP. I know Quavo and Offset are going through it rn. Perhaps this leads to reconciliation.
A dispute over money and perceived disrespect turning to violence isn't a rap thing. It's a man thing. Specifically, black men. The rate of violence right now across the board is wild and we're the main victims, usually at the hand of each other. If there's a rap dynamic it's that many rappers haven't adjusted properly to the climate. This is not the time to be flossing in front of starving wolves, or arguing with people at a dice game who have less money than you. Getting the last word, stunting, reacting violently to disrespect...that shyt is never smart but your odds of walking away without fukkery were better before the pandemic. Now with so many people still fukked up, prices through the roof etc shyt is not a game.
There's so much discourse over women being emotional, men being logical. Where is the logic in this violence? Nearly all of it is driven by emotion. Unfortunately I see no end game to this, beyond perpetual murder. Sure the violence rate will go down at some point but it'll remain higher in our cities than other places. I'm not convinced anything can be done to solve this. All you can do individually is focus on making it home. Somebody disrespecting you, trying to start shyt etc? Just make it home. fukk all that other shyt. When you're dead in a casket your family not gonna say "but he held his own and didn't let them disrespect him."
RIP. Legit good guy.
