I'm shoehorning my agenda when rich, multimillionaire Rapper A gets into conflict with affiliated brehs over a 4-figure sum, and multimillionaire Rapper B dies in a shooting as a result? You come up with some wild example when not even needed.
If it's not hip hop culture, then what is it? Because I definitely don't see country or metal artists getting clipped like this.
Modern hip hop culture says...
- Disrespect cannot be tolerated. But fukk your feelings.
- De-escalating an escalation to escape with your life = p*ssy. But you shouldn't take an L in a physical altercation, even if it means pulling a gun. "fukk a fight."
- Not being afraid to show up in your hood makes you a real one. But anyone can get touched in your hood.
- Rocking jewelry all the time regardless of context means you're not p*ssy and not broke. But so murdering someone for their jewelry and for a come up is what the streets do.
The music is full of conflicting messages that has everyone striving to be king of the hill or die doing so.
Do YOU even listen to the music?
