what I respect the most about Nas in the battle was that he waited for 3-4 months to respond to the Takeover. Some rappers were quick to clown Nas around that time thinking his career was over. Nas though was secured enough not to rush his response. Which means the takeover didn't really hurt him.

This happened before social media/the internet became what it currently is.

Meaning, there wasn't a problem with taking time to respond. Which was how things were in the previous eras (80's and 90's). Now people got the attention span of a fruit fly so they want a response ASAP.

I’ve never ever understood why people compare Takeover to Ether. Takeover was a song with a few disses to Nas. He had one short verse. Ether was a whole ass diss song dedicated solely to Jay. If anything, at least compare it to supa ugly (Nas still wins)

also nobody back then though Nas “couldn’t come back” or his “career was over”, the consensus was just that he had fallen off, dramatic ass nikkaz.
