I'm midway in the game, it's okay so far nothing to hype about, they have an English translation patch for the game

Xillia was dope but Xillia 2 the plot man, those feels at the end of the game. the whole last 1/3 of that game from an emotional impact standpoint was among the best of any JRPG ever.

Xillia 2 has the balls to lay out an end game scenario where there isn't a path to a happy ending and actually go through with it. Most games will lay that out then have a deus ex machina undo it. Not here. No matter what choices you make you're gonna get a downer ending.

The gameplay is ok. 75% of the assets are recycled from the other game. I'm just saying the last 1/3 of the game has some heavy hitting moments in it.

Playing through Xillia 2 now (late as fukk, I know).

Game is ok so far, the combat is fun, but this little girl is annoying. :beli:

JRPGs just insist on sticking some annoying little kid in your party. Though the bad part with her is that she doesn't even fight, she's just there to be a brat and that's it.

Xillia 2 is such a misleading game because 80% of it is typical tales then it takes a pretty dark turn at the tail end. The ending of chapters 12 and 15 in particular and the boss on chapter 12 is brutal. That one is among the hardest in the series. The boss killed my party so fast I thought it was one of those battles you were required to lose and then the game over screen came up and I was dumbfounded. I ended up letting the boss kill 3 of my 4 party members and left them dead and kept Ludger and an occasional healer alive at times. Messed up part is you have to fight that boss with a mandatory party and two of the characters were pretty weak IMO.

Guess I better prepare for a downer ending. :francis:

I just started Chapter 6. That's right after you beat Volt and then find out Milla is missing. At this point I still don't really know what the hell is going on...why the main character's brother turned evil, why the hell they have superpowers, why time keeps rewinding, etc. But I guess it'll be explained at some point.

I'm playing on normal and so far the games been a cakewalk, the only mildly challenging boss was Volt because I wasn't playing defensively and he caught me off guard with the amount of damage he does with that attack when he just starts bouncing on everybody. Didn't get a game over but I did have a couple characters get KO'd (luckily I had auto-item set so they got revived). Was thinking about playing on hard, but if the difficulty ramps up that much I'm glad I stuck with normal.

Only thing I REALLY don't like about the game is the debt thing. I usually like to level grind early on and amass a good amount of money, and in this game you can't because the moment they even sniff some money in your account the debt collectors are on your ass. :pacspit:
