Talk about working fast. Tyler Perry filmed 19 episodes of his new show “Bruh” in only four days

So I guess the black crew has to take an L since their being paid by the hour/ day and not by the episode.

He can't get credit for hiring black people where he does this.

He's probably still taking people's writing credits too.
It's doesn't say that he worked them 24 hours a day though. I'm pretty sure the crews behind thses productions are union so he'd had to pay them alot extra if he did. So If they clocked in and clock out at the same time as usual it doesn't seem like a big deal. Just means the leads got to eat more than usual because they weren't taking 50 takes to do one scene. I guess you could make the argument that doing that many episodes in that little time does cut short the number of days they are on set earning though.

Percy hasnt seen the success Tyler has. Percy put out ton of stuff that flopped. I cant find one thing Tyler has done that has flopped.

tyler knows his market, Percy was flooding the streets with random products. And content aside Tyler is a GENUIS when it comes to the logistics of media production. If Tyler at least employed good writers I’d say he could surpass Or be equal to Blumhouse.

Blumhouse also churns out cheap films, but due to the quality they are seen as being “efficient” more so than “cheap”.

That's because Blumhouse isn't filming movies or an enormous number of episodes in a matter of months/weeks. Tyler Perry is the Dollar General in the film industry with the way that he runs and operates his empire.

So this means no time for reshoots right? Might be a reason why the acting his stuff is daytime soapp opera, sometimes worse, level. This is also why that last movie has all those continuity issues with wigs and the like.

It's really an insult to his audience expectations.

props to dude cuz he’s making his money regardless but this really speaks to the low quality of a lot of his shows/movies
No props to Perry. He pushes out shytty movies and shows filled to the brim with Black stereotypes while he pays the Black people who work for him pennies. He could be using his wealth and resources for good but he does this. fukk his chitlin circuit

He says getting shyt done as fast as possible is his move. When he was shooting that movie with Phylicia Rashad and folks were clowning the wigs he said he didnt want to waste time getting a good wig when he could use what he already has.

my point is Tyler having better writing and still applying it to his model would improve the quality leaps and bounds. The nature of what he does i dont think he needs to bring in directors, its primarily the writing that is the problem.

That would require him bringing in more employees and cutting into his profits, which is the same premise that Dollar General operates on.

So we know it’s going be trash

Exactly.

I respect his hustle and maybe he’s trying to knock these shyts out quickly in case there’s another shutdown but if things were normal he’d still be doing this shyt

at the same time he’s trying to save money behind the camera and make sure those sets are free for non Tyler projects that will pay big $ to film in an enclosed space.

but dude is writing basura scripts all by himself and these projects look like sightly upgraded stage plays.

Speaking of stage plays, I watched that Assisted Living show on BET the other day and it literally sounded and portrayed itself as a stage play. Especially the scene with J. Anthony Brown and his son that went on for 10+ minutes :mjlol:
