Currents was pop as hell tho

I dunno this sounds like a better version of Currents to me

As I said, it was expected after the commercial and musical success of Currents (and going major) to make it clearer.
The big difference for me at least was that currents was a lot more psychedelic and raw, following but yet innovating on the backdrop of iS and Lonerism. This follows Currents, but again further away from the psychedelic rock turned psychedelic pop, not as challenging, and less innovative. I can’t really say anything about the lyrical content yet but felt weaker on the first plays.

Currents is def not more psychedelic or raw....it sounds more commercial and smoothed out than this album imo. The lyrics are better on this than Currents....personally I thought the lyrics on Currents were pretty meh.
