I was outside this morning trying to work on my truck. Had to pack it up and come back inside. I'll get out there earlier tomorrow. Not even in Florida.

That humidity is what makes it a big deal. Went to Arizona a few years back, I felt fine in 100 degrees because it wasn't humid. Just got to stay out the sun
Water too..big bodies of water regulate temperatures really well.

It's why you can have -50F temps in winter in North Dakota but it can be well over 100 in summer on a random day.

The Truth
Florida is surrounded by water so it’s breezy but still humid af

Tampa hitting a record in heat is not good news to me though.

Coli AI Overlord:

“The link between hotter summers and hurricanes

While hotter summers and warmer oceans do not necessarily lead to more hurricanes forming, they are strongly linked to the development of stronger, more intense hurricanes with higher wind speeds and significantly heavier rainfall.“

OP when you and the rest of your horde of Northerners moved down to Florida they destroyed alot of trees, grass, and natural waterways that absorbed the heat and paved over them with asphalt. This is the result of that.

I’m no scientist by far but I think it might be because Tampa bay is so large it provides a barrier with the ocean that keeps it at lower temps than places directly on the gulf or ocean.
