I agree but I disagree. Target prob looking at all the attention and free social media publicity and decided to say fawk it, lets go ahead. They know and planned for a stock hit temporarily but they also know people lives are busy and will forget quickly. They count on and relish that free publicity Bud was getting so they made the idiot move (or smart) to go ahead with it. You made valid points regarding their planning but if they wanted to, they had more than enough time to pull the plug. Like they say in Hollywood any publicity is good publicity. These companies do these campaigns ahead of time, they'll do the summer collection in the beginning of winter to have enough lead time to roll out the ad campaigns. So all this stuff was in the chamber already. They probably knew they'd have an issue because of the performance of Buzz Lightyear and that Strange World film in regards to merchandising, I dunno if y'all noticed but those toys and other stuff related to them been collecting dust, they can't even move that stuff on clearance. Target probably thought they'd be immune because their demographic would be more "upscale" and progressive so even if the stuff didn't sell well they wouldn't have to deal with any controversy.
Walmart ain't taking no chances, they pulled those Juneteenth watermelon plates a while back ago before it got a chance to go viral.
Think of all the companies that greenlight some clearly racist ads and take their chances bec they are thirsting for publicity
This might help a little When A Brand Does Well Even When It's Called 'Racist'
Respect to your post tho

i dont hate peoples lifestyles to say "the neonazis got a point with this one"
