My only real knock on Tariq can be summed up with two words, part-time militancy. I don't profess to know alot about the brother, but i will say if this is his only money making gig, imo he's not doing enough.
He's a smart guy, he says alot of stuff i agree with so i fukks with him but i don't take him 100% seriously. He appears to be making quite a bit of money off speaking on black empowerment while also doing just enough to make it look good. Now making money is not an inherently bad thing but my concern is that one day, once his personal brand and his company,
King Flex Entertainment, is self-sustaining where he no longer needs to niche rally blk ppl to spend money with him, that he then turns away from preaching the knowledge completely and just becomes another blk businessman who merely dabbles in uplifting his ppl...ie a sellout. In my mind when he says stuff like he's not trying to be a blk leader, that kinda tips his hand that that's the direction he is going in.
@The Nigerian...you make a very good point about who blk ppl tend to trust in being preachers/clergy...i'd say Tariq is the same way but instead of preaching in a religious context he uses blk empowerment.
Also i'll say this, it's a fair criticism to look at a man who preaches group economics/blks spending with blks but then goes out and buys all the the most expensive shyt with white brands. The nikka has options, like put that money back into more of his own projects or just keep it in ya pocket for something down the road. He outchere living the life instead tho and it makes smart ppl look at him a little funny. He's not that far off from the Jesse Jackson's and Al Sharpton's of the world...just keep ya eyes open is what i'd say to anybody with half a brain.
